The Vampire Diaries Season 4 Finale Is Written, Tweets Julie Plec

Elena Shows Off Her New ‘Do in Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 17: “Because the Night”

The Vampire Diaries Season 4 finale is just around the corner, so it’s a good thing executive producer Julie Plec has completed the script.

She tweeted on April 4, “And oh yeah, @carolinedries and I handed in the TVD finale script tonight. It's a little bananas, if we do say so ourselves.” Unfortunately, Julie and Caroline Dries’s banana-ness doesn’t include ponies.

One of the EP’s followers asked in a tweet whether Season 4, Episode 23 — which airs May 16 — would include Klaus’s (Joseph Morgan) favorite drawing subject. “[S]**t. No ponies. #emergencyrewrite,” Julie joked.

Aside from a lack of equines, what can we expect from the finale? Graduation! Despite their spotty attendance records, Elena (Nina Dobrev) and her friends will be donning caps and gowns. We wonder how many diplomas Stefan (Paul Wesley) has at this point?

This being Mystic Falls, something goes wrong and at least one member of the group doesn’t make it to the ceremony. And based on what Julie spoils to TV Guide, Elena may not have anyone in the audience to cheer her on. “There is a line in the [penultimate] episode when Elena is filling out graduation announcements and she says, 'Who am I supposed to send mine to?,” says Julie.

Poor E. That’s so depressing, we kind of wish we didn’t have our emotions turned on right now.
