'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Casting: Ian Somerhalder as Christian Grey & Lyndsy Fonseca as Anastasia Steele [PHOTOS & VIDEO]

Once again "Fifty Shades" fans have found a new brunette to be paired off with current Christian Grey-favourite, Ian Somerhalder. As of late, Somerhalder of "The Vampire Diaries" has topped web polls to play the BDSM-role in E.L. James best-selling erotica novel. The problem, however, is finding a leading lady to play opposite him. Would Lyndsy Fonseca of "Nikita" be the perfect Anastasia Steele for Ian?


Universal Studios and Focus Features have finally announced the date of release for the film adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey." The novel turned film by E.L. James is set to hit theatres by summer of 2014. Casting should take place any time soon however that isn't obviously the case for the production studio.


Of course, leave it to obsessed and addicted "Fifty Shades" fans to come up with countless lists of celebrities with the potential to play the role of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. To date, the number one favourite for the role of Grey is "Vampire Diaries" star, Ian Somerhalder. The Salvatore brother is followed closely by "White Collar's" Matt Bomer and "Man of Steel's" Henry Cavill.


A lot of fans clearly agree that the role of Christian Grey be given to Ian Somerhalder. Yet, the big question is who would play opposite Ian as Anastasia Steele? "Vampire Diaries" fans have nominated Ian's on and off screen beau, Nina Dobrev for the role. However, Dobrev has deemed the idea a bad one.


"I don't know if that's a good idea. I think it's best for any of the actors on Vampire Diaries to kind of do their own things ... and create new characters. And as much as you try when you shoot a movie, if it's two of the same people, the fans will always see you as ... they'll see you as Elena and they'll see him as Damon if we do the film together," explained Nina Dobrev in a post by Celebrity Café.


If not Nina then who could play Anastasia opposite Somerhalder? A lot of hot female celebs have been thrown around the mix as a perfect partner and the latest includes Lyndsy Fonseca of "Nikita." The latest fan-made trailer to hit the web stars Somerhalder and Fonseca. Judging from the amount of views, a lot of "Fifty Fans" agree with the pairing. Check out the video below.
