Top 5 Vampire Diaries OMG Moments From Season 4, Episode 19

Matt and Rebekah at Prom in Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 19: “Pictures of You”

Still walking around convinced that your nearest and dearest is maybe secretly an ancient witch after watching The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 19, “Pictures of You”? So are we. That’s why we bringing you the Top 5 OMG Moments that had us hitting “rewind” on our DVR remotes over and over.

The Ghost of Jeremy Gilbert
While this was a great episode for moving Bonnie (Kat Graham) forward, it was also pretty mired in the events of her past. She’s got a lot of catching up to do in the aftermath of what we will lovingly call Silas-nesia. Contending with the death of her mother’s entire coven is just one dark spot in her not-too-distant past.

This past also includes her lost one-time love, Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen), and his death at Silas’s hands. When Bonnie goes to the cemetery to mourn, it’s the appearance of Jeremy as a ghost commanding that she wake up from the dream and its dangerous flame-covered reality that had us gasping for breath.

Elena’s Prom Date...s
Non-human Elena (Nina Dobrev) is a bad, bad, girl — and we’re not alone in loving her for it! After a rumble in the dress shop pitting Elena and her recently acquired flunky, Rebekah (Claire Holt), against Caroline (Candice Accola) and the still-confused Bonnie, Elena came out ahead. She also came out with Caroline’s dress! The horror!

We have to say, our girl did look ravishing. She looked equally ravishing on the arms of her double-prom dates, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley). Oh sure, it wasn’t exactly a romantic fantasy come true, since the brothers were acting as, essentially, chaperones, but it made for a pretty awesome tableau.

Caroline’s Big Surprise
Like Scarlett O’Hara before her, Caroline wasn’t going to let a little fashion disaster slow her down. She arrived at the prom in a fitted, fabulous gown, courtesy of the Mikaelson archives, of course.

But fashion can’t cure all that ails you, and Caroline was still down in the dumps. Between her best friend turning into a callous psycho, and her boyfriend hiding off in the woods, it wasn’t shaping up to be a prom to remember. Or at least, not first. Then Tyler (Michael Trevino) did the unthinkable, taking his life in his hands to take his girl to prom. Be still my human heart!

Elijah’s Blunder
Elijah (Daniel Gillies) certainly had a busy prom night. Not that he was in attendance, but more that he was playing the role of fairy godmother, testing his sister, Rebekah, to see how sincere her intentions were in regards to becoming human.

Elijah’s never been a Mikaelson who is easy to fool, which is why the events of last night were so shocking! Silas had been up to his old tricks, taking the appearance of several of Mystic Falls most recognizable residences. When he took the form of Rebekah, Elijah was conned into handing over the cure. Now all Silas needs is some help from Bonnie, and we have ourselves hell on earth. Thanks, Elijah.

Our First Glimpse of Silas
Although Bonnie spent the better part of the episode trying to get Silas out of her head, he was right about one thing. When it comes to using Expression, she’s in a dangerous place. She almost went full-on Carrie at the prom, and then, you know, nearly killed her best friend.

It was this latter event that sent her back to Silas, in the old tunnels belonging to the Lockwoods. Once there, she managed to get him to face her and show her who he really was. He mentioned that Qetsiyah had changed him so that no woman would ever fall in love with him. Then, he stepped into the light. We didn’t see a lot, but what we saw wasn’t pretty.
