Paul Wesley to direct a season 6 episode of the Vampire Diaries

If you loved Paul Wesley’s first foray into directing — Season 5, Episode 18 (“Resident Evil”) — you’ll be excited to learn that it won’t be his last! Now that Season 5 is officially behind us and we’re looking ahead to Season 6, and we’re over the moon with the news that Paul will be getting behind the camera once more.
“Paul Wesley tells me he’ll be directing another ep of #TVD next season!” BuzzFeed’s Jarett Wieselman tweeted from yesterday’s CW Upfronts, making all of our dreams come true. Sure, we don’t know which episode he’ll be tackling (it’s a little early for that), it doesn’t make us any less excited.
Not only do fans support Paul being a double threat, but we’re pretty keen on the idea as well. The episode he was in charge of this past season gave us all kinds of nostalgic feelings with the adorable (albeit fake) images of how Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) could have had a perfect life together.
The Vampire Diaries family was also welcoming of Paul stepping behind the camera, with the cast sharing behind-the-scenes photos of Paul goofing off and sitting in his director’s chair. While Paul was “definitely nervous” to direct his first episode of TV, he admitted that the cast was “so supportive.” Adorable, right?
