The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Caroline Tries to Stop Elena’s Torture

Before you torture someone, please make sure you’re exhausted all your other options. That’s pretty much Caroline’s (Candice Accola) plea in Zap2It’s exclusive clip of The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 21, “She’s Come Undone.”

Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) definitely tried many things before deciding to expose Elena (Nina Dobrev) to sunlight in order to get her to turn her emotions back on. They attempted to bombard her with memories at prom. They starved her. Damon even tried getting inside the vamp’s head to make her nostalgic for her old life.

Nothing has worked, so they’re moving on to torture. This is when Caroline “I’ve been tortured more times than I can count” Forbes enters the picture.

Stefan tries to keep Caroline away from Elena. The theory is that if she’s isolated, the baby bloodsucker will be miserable and that will eventually lead to an emotion.

Still, Caroline is not persuaded to join Team Torture. “It’s not torture. It’s an intervention. The only chance we have is to provoke her,” says Stefan. Any emotion will do: Fear. Anger. Self-pity.

Before they start, Caroline begs for one last chance to talk to Elena. It can’t hurt, right? Unless Elena decides to kill her bestie again...
