SPOILER! Will Damon Salvatore Be Revived? Paul Wesley Says...

Paul Wesley (Stefan) appeared on Huffpost Live to chat the new PSA he directed for Welcome.us, but took some time to drop a few much-anticipated hints about where The Vampire Diaries might be heading in Season 6 — specifically, in relation to the fate of on-screen brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder). What did Paul have to share about Damon’s chances of revival?
“Season 5 of The Vampire Diaries proved — forget that — all five seasons of The Vampire Diaries proved really, you can die,” Paul told the news outlet, “[but] there’s an 80 percent chance that you will be resurrected.” Hard to argue with that assessment of TVD’s relationship to death thus far. Paul went even further to reassure fans, saying: “Well, considering the fact [Ian]’s a series regular and a staple of the show, I would say he’s got a good likelihood.”
We think so, too. Especially given that showrunner Julie Plec told Entertainment Weekly: “We will definitely see Ian Somerhalder and Kat Graham (Bonnie) on the show. I mean, there’s a million different ways that you can do that. But as far as in what context — how, why, and where? — that’s part of the mystery.”
Also part of the mystery is how Damon’s loved ones will have reacted to his death. When asked if Elena (Nina Dobrev) will make it past Damon’s death, Paul teased: “Will she make it? What does make it mean? I think she’ll make it. She’ll be fine.” As for his own character’s reaction, he was a bit more tight-lipped. He admitted that he has sat down with Julie and that the writers have a “really cool take on that” — so cool that he’d “rather the audience experience it first-hand.”
