SPOILER! Vampire Diaries Season 6 Spoiler: Jodi Lyn O’Keefe Cast as “Tough” Doctor Jo Share Remind Me To Watch Win $500! Credit: David Buchan/Getty Images Is there a doctor in the house? If there’s one thing The Vampire Diaries is known for — besides love triangles and doppelganger drama — it’s diabolical doctors. First there was Meredith Fell (Torrey DeVitto) and then there was Dr. Wes Maxfield (Rick Cosnett), but now it’s time to say hello to Jo, who will be played by Hit the Floor’s Jodi Lyn O’Keefe. Entertainment Weekly confirms that the 35-year-old actress will be joining the cast in Season 6, playing “a tough and accomplished doctor at the university hospital. She demands excellence from her students and has learned the hard way that there’s no room for error in her profession.” Hmm, sounds like she might be spending some time bossing around Liam (Marco James), who has been cast as a “cocky yet good-natured med student who comes from a family of doctors.” How will these two fit in with the happenings of our Mystic Falls gang and how long will the doc be sticking around? There’s no official word on these two fronts, but if we had to guess we’d assume that Alaric Saltzman (Matt Davis) might fall for yet another medical professional. Now that he’s back from the dead, this studly Super Saiyan Original Vampire will need a new love interest to lovingly sink his teeth into, right? Or perhaps Jo will be involved somehow with the new Season 6 villain, Tripp (Colin Ferguson). He’s running a community militia, which makes it sound like there will be some sort of fighting going on. Maybe Jo is his go-to doctor, or some of his victims will be paying her a visit. Either way, she’s definitely involved with Whitmore College, so get ready undergrads!
