Even when you’re on a remote island, a thousand miles from home, your bestie is still but a phone call away. In a new clip for The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 14, “Down the Rabbit Hole,” Elena (Nina Dobrev) rings up Caroline (Candice Accola) for some much needed assistance.
After filling the blond vamp in on all of Shane’s (David Alpay) shadiness — namely, kidnapping Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) — Elena explains what she needs Caroline to do.
“So Shane’s looking for the cure; we think we can find him. We have pictures of Jeremy’s tattoo, but we just can’t translate the map,” explains the newbie bloodsucker. Caroline catches on quickly, realizing the Gilbert’s trapped houseguest has something they need — the hunter’s sword.
Klaus (Joseph Morgan) listens on from his witch’s bubble. On the island, Rebekah (Claire Holt) points out that her brother won’t give up the sword for anyone — not even Caroline — if it means getting them one step closer to the cure.
“I’ll find the sword, and I’ll call you back,” Caroline promises. “Need my help with anything, love?” Klaus asks her from his magical prison. “Nope,” she replies before walking out the door.
Something tells us that even with the sword, pics of Jeremy’s tats, and an overachiever’s will, Caroline’s going to need the OV’s aid sooner or later.
