Ian Somerhalder and Kevin Williamson: Bromantic Lunch in LA! (PHOTOS)
Ian Somerhalder and Kevin Williamson Have Lunch at Mauro's Cafe on February 28, 2013
Ian Somerhalder and Kevin Williamson might be colleagues on The Vampire Diaries, but the men clearly have more than just a working relationship!
On Thursday, February 28, the actor and TVD producer were spotted enjoying a friendly lunch at Mauro’s Cafe in West Hollywood. The restaurant — located inside the Fred Segal boutique on Melrose Avenue — is a favorite of many celebs... including Ian’s co-star and girlfriend Nina Dobrev!
The Vampire Diaries: What If Season 4 Was All a Dream in Elena's Mind?
While Season 4 of Vampire Diaries has had some great moments with Elena in her new vampire form (the "Rager" kegstand pops immediately to mind), this storyline has been filled with a lot of complications. Most especially with the sire bonding of Damon and Elena, and everyone trying to cure Elena of her vampirism. But what if all this losing Jeremy and her being compelled to be with Damon instead of Stefan was all really just a fantasy that Elena had concocted? What if Season 4 was all a dream and we found out that Elena was really in a coma since the end of last season? Hey, it worked all those years ago on Dallas. And we're pretty sure that most of the people who love this show were not around when that big twist happened.
How would it work exactly? Well, we've got some thoughts.
First, Stefan ignored Elena's request to save Matt first, and instead rescued her and Matt died. It breaks our heart as he's one of the few non-supernatural people left in town and just plain old adorable, but it's not like he gets a ton to do on this show. They'd have to find another way to stop Alaric, but it would have been fitting. And then this whole dream could've just been Elena's way of trying to deal with the loss of Matt, by pretending it didn't happen.
Or, Elena and Matt both lived, but Elena was unconscious long enough to be declared dead for enough time for her to sever her ties to Ric (so he could still go off to star on the needlessly convoluted Cult), and she's just been in a coma this whole time and has lived out her wish-fulfillment (and fan 'shipping) of hooking up with Damon.
A third possibility: Elena doesn't get the vampire blood in time and is really dead, and this is just her fantasy from beyond… Lovely Bones-style.
Lastly, the dream sequence could've started the second she hit the water, and instead of her life flashing in front of her eyes, she got a vision of what the future would be like if she died and became a vampire.
Would making it a dream be better than the season so far?
To be clear, we may have our personal preferences for Elena's romantic options, but honestly, we see the appeal of both brothers… and Matt … or someone else entirely. There are days when we think that she should just up and move away from Mystic Falls and the brothers Salvatore who have inadvertently (and sometimes purposefully) caused her so much pain, not to mention the loss of everyone she knows and loves. She may love Stefan, but honestly, being alive might be a nice thing, too, no? Having your aunt or your brother to spend time with might be a great thing for a high school girl who maybe doesn't need to settle down with anyone for the rest of her life at this point, be they dead or undead.
Sure, we've often wanted to see Elena and Damon together because they have sexy chemistry, but we'd like it to be because of her own free will — not because she's tied to him via a sire bond (based on his life-giving blood) and may or not be attracted to him for real. If this season isn't a dream and Elena stays a vampire long-term, there is always going to be the question of can she trust her feelings for Damon entirely, or are they skewed. And if she chooses to go off with Stefan after all, would the sire-bond always give her feelings of guilt for all eternity?
Another reason to hope this has all been a fantasy: Jeremy is dead — really dead — and that thought is just too depressing for us to cope with. If the show finds a bizarre way to bring him back (Bonnie raising him from the dead Buffy, the Vampire Slayer-style, for instance), we'd be annoyed because it gives any shocking death on this show less real consequences. While making it a dream might be initially an easy fix (and probably create a war within an already divided fanbase), at least we'd be able to trust that humans aren't always easily able to be resurrected in this world, which might make their passing difficult and emotional, but far more realistic.

The Vampire Diaries Synopsis For Season 4, Episode 17: “Because the Night”
We couldn’t help but think of 10,000 Maniacs — the band, not some daydream Klaus had of a hybrid army — when we heard the tile for The Vampire Diaries
Season 4, Episode 17: “Because the Night.”
If the night does indeed belong to lovers, then that might mean more Delena time. According to the synopsis for the episode, Elena and Damon
have yet another road trip in their future. This time they’re going to the Big Apple.
In New York City, the elder Salvatore will flash back to his party days in the 1970s. Back then, Damon was in to being bad, partying in clubs, and... Lexi ?
? It turns out there was more to their relationship than meets the eye.
Rebekah follows the pair to NYC and discovers Elena has more on her mind than visiting the Statue of Liberty and eating hot dogs from a cart.
Besties Stefan and Caroline get to team up again. This time, their mission is to get Klaus to help them find Silas. Those two baddies can probably contact each other via secret decoder rings that come standard with membership in some super villain club.
Bonnie still has no idea what’s going on.
THURSDAY, MARCH 21
THE VAMPIRE DIARIES — (8:00–9:00 p.m. ET)
“Because the Night” (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)
FLASHBACK TO DAMON’S LIFE IN 1970s NEW YORK / THE BAND DEAD SARA PERFORMS — Realizing that Elena needs some time away from Mystic Falls, Damon takes her to New York City, where he lived and partied hard in the 1970s. When Rebekah (Claire Holt) also shows up in New York, she’s impressed with Elena’s secret agenda. Flashbacks reveal Damon’s hedonistic life in the underground club scene and a complicated encounter with Lexi (guest star). Meanwhile, Caroline and Stefan try to convince Klaus that it would be in his own best interest to help them track Silas down, and Bonnie struggles to keep her grasp on reality and do the right thing. Garreth Stover directed the episode written by Brian Young & Charlie Charbonneau (#417).
The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: More on Daniel Gillies, meeting true Silas
Ready for some new “Vampire Diaries” scoop? Well, we are getting closer than ever to seeing Daniel Gillies finally return to the show as Elijah, and it is only a matter of time until he is around in a full-time capacity so long as The CW picks up “The Originals” (which seems close to a sure thing as long as the pilot is decent).
So what does Julie Plec have to say about the actor’s return? While she is not dishing many concrete details about what is coming up for him in a new chat with TVLine, she does at least explain that we are going to get a sense of what he has been up to in his absence from Mystic Falls:
“It’ll be fun to have him back in our Mystic Falls universe … We finally get a sense of what he’s been doing during his whole absence from our world.”
In addition to that, we have some bonus scoop! Plec says that eventually, the show is going to cast an actor to play the part of Silas after he has bounced around in a few different forms as of late … similar to how they promised to eventually cast Klaus after he did not exactly show up within his own body at first. There’s no word as to whether or not this will happen during season 4 or during the already-announced season 5, that is still to be seen.

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Naked Klaus Shows Off His...
Oh, là là. These Vampire Diaries spoilers may be inappropriate for some viewers! Executive producer Julie Plec tells TVLine an intriguing detail about Klaus’s (Joseph Morgan) upcoming naked scene.
“I will say that Joseph Morgan has some tattoos that I didn’t know he had until shooting this scene,” says Julie. We’ll just let your imagination go wherever it takes you.
But according the site, the sexy scene occurs in Season 4, Episode 16, “Bring It On.” That’s different from what Joseph Morgan told E! Online.
According to that Vampire Diaries spoiler, Klaus has an intimate scene in Season 4, Episode 18, “American Gothic.” As Joseph pointed out, “He hasn't really ever kissed anyone! I mean in the form of Tyler he has, but I think he's finally going to get some action. It's going to be interesting.”
If Klaus does get naked in this upcoming episode, we’d have to guess he and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) engage in some hate sex. According to the synopsis, he’s tracked the werewolf down and she has some interesting information to share.
As for Caroline (Candice Accola), we assume it’s way too soon for her to get naked with Klaus. She’s still not over Tyler (Michael Trevino) or the fact that the Original murdered the mayor.
Maybe there are two sexy scenes? Joseph teased to E! Online, "Episode 18 is going to be a good one. I'm probably going to get some hate mail after 16, but we'll see!" We can see Klaroline fans getting upset if Klaus hooks up with Hayley, but if there’s more to come in Episode 18...
Who do you think Klaus’s hookup is?
'50 Shades of Grey' Movie: E. L. James Says Casting Picks will Surprise Fans
more on first article: 50 Shades of Grey movie favorite Ian Somerhalder might be a little concerned after reading a comment that author E. L. James recently made about casting the film—she hinted that Ian might not be her ideal Christian Grey.
Ian has been campaigning hard for the role, and in the past James has hinted that she would like him to play the part by saying that she's a fan of The Vampire Diaries and by responding positively to a fan tweet featuring Ian dressed up in a 50 Shades-style masquerade mask. However, based on what she recently said to the New York Post, fans might be surprised by who she chooses to play Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.
Here's what she said about casting the 50 Shades of Grey movie:
"We don't even have a filmmaker . . . so we are still a long way away from casting. I have some ideas . . . but it may not be who people expect."
James recently attended the Vanity Fair Oscar party, where agents were allegedly lining up to pitch their actor clients to the author. So she's going to have a lot of options to choose from.
Many Fifty fans are already expecting E. L. James to choose Ian Somerhalder as her Christian Grey, so her comment about casting should definitely trouble Ian supporters. It will also have Fifty fans wondering who the author is talking about—is there some really obscure actor that she has in mind, or does she see other fan favorites like Matt Bomer, Stephen Amell, and Henry Cavill as being unexpected choices simply because they're not Ian? Maybe she's even changed her mind and now thinks that Robert Pattinson should get cast as Christian.
It's also possible that she still wants Ian to play Christian—her unexpected casting ideas might be her choices for the role of Anastasia Steele. There were once reports that she favors Shailene Woodley for the part, and this pick would probably surprise quite a few fans since the actress doesn't get mentioned as much as heavy favorites Alexis Bledel, Emilia Clarke, and Lucy Hale.
So what do you think of James' comment about her casting choices?
'50 Shades of Grey' Movie: E. L. James Says Casting Picks will Surprise Fan..
Please remember that TEAM FIFTY is not going to give any info away before the big news is released. Also E L James already asked ALL of you via twitter who you wanted cast. She now knows no matter who is picked some people will not be happy.
Please remember E L James didn't say ANYTHING about the fan favorites. The person at GATHER writing this article named a few but E L James did not.
E L James did not say who would surprise us either. Could she be talking about Ana or Christian or supporting cast? Only she knows!
Here is whats being reported on this...

The Vampire Diaries' Julie Plec: We Don't Have Plans to Bring Tyler Back (For Now)
When the show returns, it seems Caroline and Elena might go head-to-head.
Plec: Caroline in her darkest day has never been anything but a fixer, and her efforts to fix Elena and try to get her on the right track are not going to go over so well. These girls are peers and best friends, but one of their behaviors has changed, so it's a real world paradigm of high school friendships, with one friend getting out of control and what you try to do about it and how they respond to you.
What can we expect from Caroline and Klaus' relationship?
Plec: We haven't seen the end of the strange and somewhat perverse and beautiful and horrific and amazing and awful dynamic between Caroline and Klaus. Even if the spin-off does happen and we have two shows, I don't predict that that would be the end of that relationship.
TV's most heartbreaking deaths!
Some people haven't loved the direction that Bonnie's character has gone this season. What can you say about her future?
Plec: I think everyone has an opinion about Bonnie. Some love her, some hate her, some love to hate her, some defend her with everything they have and some yawn and say, "Who cares?" She's one character that never had one singular point of view from the fan base. But for us she has always been the one who's caught in between what's right and what's wrong and what her heritage calls for [and] what she wants to do in the name of her friends. Now she's under extreme manipulation by Shane or Silas, whatever you want to call him right now, yet she's really just being driven by a desperate desire to bring Jeremy back from the dead. So he's exploiting that emotional drive she has and taking it to the next level and I don't even know if Bonnie right now is aware of how insane she is! Her mind has a very clear drive which is, "I can bring Jeremy back."
The Vampire Diaries: Can Klaus entice Caroline away from Tyler?
The second half the season will be more grounded in high school. What can we expect?
Plec: We just started shooting the prom episode, which is episode 19 and graduation is going to be the finale. We'll get to end the season with all of those great questions of who's going to be where, who's going to be with who, who's going to do what.
So when will we know who Elena is taking to prom?
Plec: You may have to wait until someone puts up the wrong photos or I accidentally slip and say something in the press.
The Vampire Diaries returns with new episodes on Thursday, March 14 at 8/7c on The CW.

Ian Somerhalder Is Shirtless For Origin Magazine
Is it the global warming or is it hot in here? The Vampire Diaries’ Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore) is turning up the heat by bringing his environmentally conscious (and shirtless) self to the cover of Origin magazine.
The actor graces the March/April issue with a sign that says: Generation Extinct. According to the cover, Ian will be talking about whether humans are an endangered species.
Unlike the non-supernaturals of Mystic Falls who are threatened by hybrids and vampires, Ian is probably referring to people’s impact on the environment. That’s right in Ian’s wheelhouse — he has an entire foundation dedicated to helping creatures great and small, the Ian Somerhalder Foundation.
Earlier this month, Ian gave a preview of his cover shoot, as he was photographed by Butch Hogan. Sometime between that pic and the one that made it to the cover, Ian lost his shirt.
On February 8, he tweeted his excitement about working with the magazine, saying, “On the phone with founder of Origin Magazine .originmagazine.com/ doing an article for the cover. I'm really proud to be on this cover.”
Origin prides itself on being a platform for “Art, Culture, Conscious Lifestyle, Humanitarianism, Sustainability and Yoga,” so we can see why it’s right up Ian’s alley!

Does Paul Wesley Have a Brother? Vampire Diaries Fan Question of the Day
We get it. You found out Paul Wesley (Stefan Salvatore) is married to Torrey DeVitto (Meredith), and you’re hoping he has an equally cute and funny brother that you can have instead. We feel for you.
Unfortunately for you, the Vampire Diaries star only has sisters. Three of them to be exact: Monkia, Julia, and Leah. They’re related to Paul, so of course, they’re all gorgeous. Paul is 13 years older than Julia and 15 years older than Leah. Monkia, who is two-and-a-half years older than Paul, has two adorable kids, which means Paul is an uncle!
So, nope, no brothers. It looks like Paul is one of a kind!

The Vampire Diaries' Unofficial Mystic Falls Survival Guide
Basically, just don’t travel anywhere after dark, unless you’re trained in many deadly arts. (Especially, and we can’t emphasize this enough, during full moons.) It’s not that the crime rate is high here; there just happen to be a lot of vicious, wild animals who aren’t afraid of humans and who seem to wander freely about town. Once we’ve elected a new Town Council, they’ll certainly look into the matter, and we are always in need of volunteers to patrol the forest.
Keep a close eye on your children
For some reason, the youths in Mystic Falls are a rambunctious bunch. Like most American teenagers, they love a good football game, but they also follow it up with some real ragers in the woods. Remember what we said about the woods? Even a clearing packed with teenagers won’t keep the kids from wandering away and falling down a ravine or something. In fact, even a school-sponsored event like a dance can spell disaster for your teen. Have you considered homeschooling?
Consider homeschooling
We’ll be honest: Our teachers are not exactly Chilton Prep-caliber educators. Some keep inappropriately titled files on students who have been having problems at home, while others have close, personal relationships with certain members of their classes and completely ignore others. The MFHS staff is a whimsical bunch; they tend to leave without any notice, and they rarely send postcards after they’re gone. Perhaps this is why some of Mystic Falls High School’s students barely bother to attend class at all. If you don’t expect your child to get into a decent four-year college, then our school might be just the place for him or her!
Take up horticulture
Although native to this region, vervain no longer grows wild in Mystic Falls. It’s truly a shame, because the delicate purple blossoms are both aromatic and eye-catching. We encourage all residents to keep the lovely plant in their homes, and in fact, on their person at all times. It makes a lovely perfume.
Get fit
There’s absolutely no drawback to being able to run very fast for long distances. But cardio isn’t really enough. Lift weights and train yourself in boxing and mixed martial arts. And even if you’re a pacifist, there’s nothing wrong with learning to defend yourself with deadly weapons.
The dating game sucks
While we’ve mentioned the beauty of the natural landscape, the human scenery in Mystic Falls is nothing to scoff at either. But we can’t stress enough that for your own protection, stick to the average-looking residents of Mystic Falls when you want a date. If someone looks like they could be an actor, model, or the like, just walk away. Or if you must, make out with them at the bar in the Mystic Grill, but do not leave with them or invite them into your home.
Go out to have fun
It seems contradictory to tell you not to go out and not to invite anyone into your home ever, but after you’ve lived here for awhile (provided you make it that long), you’ll realize all the socializing takes place during daylight at the Mystic Grill. There are probably other establishments in town; we don’t know. Maybe you should check out some of them, considering the clientele that frequents the Grill. We’re sure the library would be happy to accommodate your book club, the community center could host your Scrabble night, and any of the several restaurants would make an excellent locale for a birthday party. Anything is better than inviting strangers, or even people you think you know, love, and trust, into your home.
Once again, welcome to Mystic Falls. If you follow these simple rules, we can almost guarantee you months of happiness and well-being in your new home.

The Vampire Diaries Synopsis For Season 4, Episode 16: “Bring It On”
Talk about a fast recovery. Elena (Nina Dobrev) is back at Mystic Falls High School and feeling fine, according to the new synopsis for The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 16, “Bring It On.”
The Salvatore brothers aren’t exactly comfortable with the new Elena, and Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) decide that school is the best place for an emotionless vampire.
Apparently this version of Elena misses pike jumps and pom poms because she gets her old spot back on the cheerleading squad. Caroline (Candice Accola) is thrilled — until Elena’s competitive side gets the best of her. Cheerleaders and fangs? Not a good combination.
Teaming up again, Damon and Rebekah (Claire Holt) continue the search for the cure. Their partnership turns sour when the elder Salvatore offers the Original his unsolicited opinion.
She couldn’t outrun him forever. Klaus (Joseph Morgan) catches up with Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) and gets some interesting information out of the meeting.
A party that Elena throws turns messy when she gets into a physical altercation. Is she turning into a Mean Girl?
Check out the full synopsis below.

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES — (8:00–9:00 p.m. ET)
“Bring it On” (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)
THE NEW NORMAL — Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) new outlook has everyone concerned, leading Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) to agree that going back to the normal routine of high school would be the best thing for her. Caroline (Candice Accola) is pleasantly surprised when Elena decides to rejoin the cheerleading squad, but her pleasure turns to shock when Elena’s behavior proves dangerous. Not giving up on their search for the cure, Damon and Rebekah (Claire Holt) work together until his unwanted advice catches her off-guard. Klaus (Joseph Morgan) tries to use Hayley (guest star Phoebe Tonkin) to get the information he’s after and makes an intriguing discovery in the process. Meanwhile, a bored Elena throws a wild party and gets into an ugly fight. Jesse Warn directed the episode written by Elisabeth R. Finch & Michael Narducci (#416)
Did The Vampire Diaries Originals Spin-Off Ruin Klaus and Caroline?
There is a sizable portion of The Vampire Diaries audience who would like to see a relationship between Caroline (Candice Accola) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan) explored. Now that Joseph Morgan is headed for The Originals spin-off, some worry any hope of such a pairing is lost.
As Julie Plec tells Zap2It, the possibility of Klaus leaving Mystic Falls for New Orleans for good didn’t fundamentally change the writers’ storytelling when it comes to Klaroline. She says, “If anything, the spin-off is just another version of an obstacle. Caroline and Klaus is a very, very tricky relationship, in that we can all understand why she's drawn to him, because we're drawn to him. But Caroline is not the kind of character who would ever comfortably let herself go there.” Indeed, the blond vampire has a strong moral core that might make it extremely difficult for her to forgive Klaus for all his sins.
As fans of the show’s main triangle know, the TVD writers are all about obstacles when it comes to a couple finding happiness. Klaus’s murder problem certainly seems insurmountable at this point. “Something would have to change, whether it's Caroline's character who changes or Klaus's character who changes, or circumstances that change, before we as writers would ever legitimately think about putting them together,” says Julie.
With Klaus headed out of town, it might make those alterations more plausible — or Klaus could go wild in the Big Easy. But don’t lose heart, Klaroline fans. Julie promises, “You can look at the Caroline/Klaus relationship as something that will live on, in a way, even when he's not on the show. The want is still there.”

Michael Trevino Tells Us How He Got That Hot Body - Exclusive
Why does it feel like all our man candy is leaving us? Sniff! We lose Steven R. McQueen (Jeremy), we lose Michael Trevino (Tyler) -- it's just not fair! Of course we still have plenty of gorgeous guys in Mystic Falls to brighten up the screen each week, but losing Tyler's hot bod from the show hurts!
We couldn't help but get a little nostalgic about seeing him strip down on screen in the in the wolf-tastic Episode 2.11, “By The Light Of The Moon”? The newly transformed werewolf was looking lean, mean, and delicious! In an exclusive interview with Wetpaint after the show aired , Michael told us he amped up his workout to look finger licking good for the transformation. So how did he get that physique? Read on to find out.
WP: How’d your workout change to prepare for the transformation?
MICHAEL: I upped it a bit. Probably a little bit of extra cardio.
WP: Take us through your workout. Did you start adding on three weeks ahead?
MICHAEL: Well, no because I stay in shape and go to the gym regularly. So I just upped my cardio a bit and, with the diet, I just watched what I ate a lot more. Especially when it got down to a week before we were shooting. And while we were shooting I made sure to just eat apples and bananas and have a protein shake. I didn’t want to have anything too much. Not that it wasn’t going to look like I was physically cut but I didn’t want to go through what I was going through on a full stomach. So I would just snack throughout the day on both days. Small little snacks every now and then. I didn’t want to feel full or uncomfortable. Even though I was really what’s uncomfortable with what’s happening in it, I didn’t want to put more on myself.
WP: How many crunches a day does it take to maintain Ty’s abs?
MICHAEL: Um. Uh. I don’t know. I don’t really keep count. Let’s just say a hundred. Yep. A hundred sounds good.
We’ve got more Exclusives from Michael! Don’t miss ‘em!
Nina Dobrev Shines at the 2013 Independent Spirit Awards! (PHOTOS)
Nina Dobrev Arrives at the 2013 Independent Spirit Awards
The Oscars were undoubtedly the biggest event of the weekend (if not the season), but there was another awards show that nabbed Nina Dobrev’s attention. Hitting up the pink carpet on Saturday, February 23, the Vampire Diaries star looked sleek and sophisticated as she attended the 2013 Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica, California.
Nina’s most recent film, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, was nominated for Best First Feature — and, in fact, the cast and crew ended up taking home the prize! “Congrats to [writer/director] @StephenChbosky,” Nina tweeted later than day. “Way to hit a home run on your first try! You are brilliant, talented, and so loved. You deserve this!”
Matt Davis Says He’s Open to Alaric Returning to The Vampire Diaries
To be honest, we were really hoping to see a hallucination of Alaric in The Vampire Diaries’ mystical Silas cave. Alas, Matt Davis is busy with his new TV show Cult.
We’re not the only ones who were bummed to see Alaric go. When Clevver TV asked Matt about Alaric’s goodbye, he admitted it was sad. “It was emotional. You know, The Vampire Diaries cast and crew are definitely my family,” says Matt.
Then Matt gave us a teensy bit of hope when it comes to seeing Alaric again on TVD. Because Cult films in LA, he’s been hanging out with executive producer Julie Plec quite a bit. “I can honestly say it has not come up,” Matt says of another ghostly cameo, but “I’m certainly open to it.”
But Matt has another grand idea for reuniting the TVD cast: have some of his old castmates come to his new show. He pitched an idea — which was sadly rejected — to have
Michael Trevino (Tyler Lockwood) and Zach Roerig (Matt Donovan) show up on screen at a party for the cast of Cult (the show-within-the-show version).
“It’d be a really great if you had a couple of the Vampire Diaries [actors] try to get into the party with a plus one and whatnot,” Matt said, explaining his vision. “And they couldn’t get in, and then I bump into them, and they did like a double take.”
That’s one way to get a reunion!

When Is The Vampire Diaries Season 4 Over? Finale Date Reported
The Futon Critic is reporting that day is May 16. The CW has yet to announce the official date, but because there are 23 episodes of the show this year — and Season 3’s finale aired on May 10 — the date sounds like a good bet.
We’ve added the tentative schedule for when the rest of the episodes will air below.
OK, the bad news is this made you start picturing a long summer without TVD. The good news is this gives you plenty of time to start planning your finale party.

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Did Elena’s Sire Bond to Damon Turn Off?
When Damon told Elena to turn it off — turn it all off — in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 15, “Stand by Me,” did he also (temporarily) solve the sire bond problem?
Executive producer Julie Plec tells TV Guide that issue will be dealt with right away when TVD returns from hiatus with Season 4, Episode 16, “Bring It On” on March 14. “[T]he question of 'How does she really feel?' and 'At what point are we going to know?' is still very vivid and front and center; they certainly have plenty of screen time together,” Julie explains.
“But it is very humbling for Damon, who is more used to the love and adoration he's been given from this girl, sire bond or no sire bond, this season and now she's like, ‘eh.’ So it's both entertaining and tragic all at the same time,” she adds. (Suffering and tragedy for Damon? Why that’s all part of the TVD writers’ ingenious scheme...)
Obviously this doesn’t answer the question of how much of Elena’s feelings for Damon are dictated by the sire bond. If turning off her emotions switches everything into neutral, then it overrides her eagerness to please Damon and follow his instructions.
If that’s the case, then it won’t be nearly as easy for the elder Salvatore to tell Elena to turn her emotions back on. No-emotions Elena may be around for a while....

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Elena and Caroline in Conflict
On top of all the deaths and departures in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, something else that’s been difficult to watch is the growing distance between Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Caroline (Candice Accola).
The best friends started growing apart when Caroline realized the new vampire is sire bonded to Damon (Ian Somerhalder). While Elena was sure her feelings for him were genuine, the blond bloodsucker tried to convince her it was all in her head.
According to what executive producer Julie Plec tells Entertainment Weekly, the relationship between the two vampiresses is about to be under more strain. In Season 4, Episode 16, “Bring It On,” a newly unemotional Elena — who rejoins the pep squad — is eager to feed on some vervain-free out-of-towners during a cheerleading competition. Blood-bag fan Caroline is horrified.
“Caroline is the fixer she’s the planner,” says Julie. “She’s the best, most successful vampire in town, and she’s going to be right there in the mix wanting to help Elena. Unfortunately, Elena does not want her help, and it triggers some conflict between these two girls that’s both fun and sad at the same time.”
Oh, no! Let’s hope these two won’t b-e a-g-g-r-e-s-s-i-v-e with each other.

The Vampire Diaries Spin-Off: The Originals Unite in a Cute Pic
All our dreams are coming true! The Vampire Diaries spin-off, The Originals, is preparing to film soon, and that means our favorite siblings will soon be in the same place.
In fact, all the actors are together now! Claire Holt tweeted a picture today of herself, Joseph Morgan, and Daniel Gillies. “#keepingitinthefamily #theoriginals,” she wrote.
Can we just point out that Joseph is in a henley and Claire is cute and casual in a hoodie — but of course, Gillies is suited up. Just as it should be.
All three actors have signed on for the spin-off. It hasn’t been picked up yet, but the pilot will air on April 25, in lieu of a TVD episode.
Filming for The Originals will begin next week, but Joseph already has the script in his hands. “Reading something very 'Original' ;),” he tweeted. Phoebe Tonkin, who will bring her werewolf character Hayley to the spin-off, tweeted last Thursday that she would soon be Atlanta-bound. The show will split its shooting schedule between there and New Orleans — where the show is set.
We can’t wait to see what the siblings — and the rest of the supernatural beings — have in store for us.

Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev Cuddle in Bed on Oscar Weekend
You don’t have to tell Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev twice that things can get crazy during an awards show weekend. When these Vampire Diaries stars and real-life lovers ended up in bed after a long night of pre-Oscar partying last Saturday, they weren’t alone!
During the red carpet-heavy weekend, Nina tweeted a photo from bed. Take a breath, Nian lovers. Yes, she was snuggled up with boyfriend Ian, but TVD executive producer Kevin Williamson was there too! Now that’s a sexy trio.
“In bed with @kevwilliamson and @iansomerhalder #oscarweekend #anythingcanhappen,” Nina wrote.
Nina may have posted this photo at 4:59am on Sunday, but don’t worry, everything is G-rated! She appears to be wearing her dress from The Weinstein Company’s pre-Oscar party on Saturday night, Kevin is wearing a black T-shirt, and Ian seems to still be sporting a white dress shirt (though he kind of blends into the very comfy-looking comforter).
Amazingly, Nina and Ian looked completely refreshed (and matchy-matchy) despite their late night the next day at Elton John’s Oscar viewing party.
Aw, TVD snuggles! We’d think it was adorable if we weren’t so blinded by jealousy we can no longer see the photo. Now go get some sleep, you crazy kids!

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Elena and Katherine...
Oh, this will be fun to watch! According to a new Zap2It spoiler for The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 18, “American Gothic,” we’re going to see another Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Katherine (Nina Dobrev) switcheroo.
In a twist, however, this time the new vamp will pretend to be Ms. Pierce. Just what Elena’s trying to accomplish is unclear, but either way, Kat doesn’t think her doppelganger can pull it off.
CIting Elena’s innocence (and haircut), Katherine implies that no one will ever believe the ruse.
We know how we’d prepare for such an assignment: Endless viewings of The Parent Trap.

Katherine Is Team Delena
Katherine (Nina Dobrev): Considering that Katherine has admitted she’s always been in love with Stefan, we can’t imagine her being in favor of him running back to her doppelganger.
Team: Delena (or FEAlana: Forever Alone Elena)
Jeremy Is Undecided
Jeremy: Elena’s little brother/vampire hunter has (had? sad face) a complicated relationship with both of the Salvatore brothers. He never really gotten over that whole “Damon murdering him” thing, and he always kind of wanted his sister to be far away from both brothers. But at least he could have conversations with Stefan without calling him a “dick.”
Team: Undeclared
Lexi Is Team Stelena
Lexi (Arielle Kebbel): This woman cannot keep herself off of Team Stefan, no matter what he does, so it only makes sense that those loyalties should transfer to her BFF’s love life. That’s why she told Elena, during Stefan’s Ripper detox, “When it's real, you can’t walk away."
Team: Stelena
Rose Is Team Delena
Rose (Lauren Cohan): Rose’s unwavering faith in Damon was always so heartwarming. After she died, she explained what she saw in Delena to Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen). "It’s not just that she makes him a better person, she does, but he changes her too,” she said. “Damon challenges her, surprises her, he makes her question her life, beliefs. Stefan is different, his love is pure, he’ll always be good for her. Damon is either the best thing for her or the worst."
Team: Delena
Klaus Is Team Stelena
Klaus (Joseph Morgan): The OV has been around for pretty much ever, so we imagine he knows of what he speaks when it comes to eternal love. His sadistic side may have had a part in telling Damon, "Personally, I don't see a fairytale ending for you. All I see is Stefan and Elena," but when he says, "That kind of love never dies" about them, we have a feeling he means it.
Team: Stelena
Rebekah Is Team Delena
Rebekah (Claire Holt): Given her history with Stefan and their recent (off-the-sexy-charts) hook-up, it’s safe to say we can put this Original sister squarely not on Team Stelena. She doesn’t want her lover to go running back to Elena now, does she?
Team: Delena
Caroline Is Team Stelena
Caroline (Candice Accola): Even before she was a fearless vamp, Caroline wasn’t shy with her opinions. Her immortal status has only made her more sure of herself, so it’s not hard to figure out where her allegiances lies. And phrases like “Stefan is your epic love and I’m not going down without a fight,” and "Stefan is your soulmate!" don’t leave much room for interpretation.
Team: Stelena
Matt Is Team Delena
Matt (Zach Roerig): Sometimes we think Matt is still secretly on Team Melena, but since that’s not on the table, we’ll trust his sweet guy instinct that just wants Elena to be happy. That’s what lets these exes have a conversation like this. Elena: “Damon just snuck up on me. And no matter what I do, I just can’t shake him.” Matt: “Once you fall in love with someone... I don’t know... I don’t know if you can ever shake them.”
Team: Delena
Bonnie Is Team Stelena
Bonnie (Kat Graham): It’s no secret that Bon isn’t always the biggest Damon fan (maybe because he turned her long-lost mom into a vampire?), and while she isn’t nearly as judgey as Caroline about the whole thing, she’s still skews towards the safer Salvatore.
Team: Stelena
The Vampires Diaries Characters Choose Teams: Delena vs. Stelena
Damon, Elena, and Stefan in a Season 4 Vampire Diaries Promo
There are two kinds of people in this world:* those who think The Vampire Diaries’ heroine Elena (Nina Dobrev) should end up with brooding vampire Stefan (Paul Wesley) and those who think his bad boy brotherDamon (Ian Somerhalder) is her eternal love. Or, as these groups are better know: Team Selena and Team Delena.
The same rule applies to the residents of Mystic Falls. Everyone in town has an opinion about this tortured love triangle, and we want to see how these teams are shaping up — leaving out the obvious answers of Stefan (duh), Damon (double duh), and Elena (sigh, if only she knew). Here are the teams, as we see them:
*Editors note: OK, OK. There’s a third category of people who think Elena belongs with Elijah (Daniel Gillies), Matt (Zach Roerig), Bonnie (Kat Graham), etc.
