The Originals’ Joseph Morgan Lands Leading Role in Dermaphoria

Joseph Morgan at the TVD Photocall at the 2012 Monte Carlo TV Festival
We’re officially declaring this the summer of Joseph Morgan (Klaus). Not only is set to begin filming his very own spin-off, The Originals, the former Vampire Diaries star just snagged a movie role as well! Everything’s coming up JoMo!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Joseph will star in Dermaphoria, which is based on the cult novel by Craig Clevenger. Walton Goggins (Justified), Ron Perlman (Sons of Anarchy), and Nicole Badaan also star.
Joseph’s character is a chemist who finds himself in jail after a drug lab explodes. Unfortunately,  he doesn’t remember anything, which is bad news because the police want to charge him and some bad guys want a special formula that only the drug-maker knows.

The one thing the chemist does recall? He has a girlfriend, who’s also missing. In order to find her and shake everyone who’s chasing him, Joseph’s character invents a drug that will help him see into his past — though it might come at the expense of his sanity.
The movie will begin filming in late June in New Orleans, so hopefully Joseph will feel right at home! The actor is very excited about the movie, and tweeted that the script is “amazing.” He used all caps, so it has to be true!
One more great thing about Joseph’s new role? We have one more book, Dermaphoria, to add to our #bookrevolution pile.
