Over the last few weeks, Ian Somerhalder’s been in London rehearsing a role for an upcoming film. Up until recently, there’s been no confirmation as to what the project was — but fans of the actor were desperately hoping that Ian had been cast in Fifty Shades of Grey.
Unfortunately for those hoping to see the Vampire Diaries star in all of his S&M glory, we have a bit of news. Ian hasn’t been cast in Fifty Shades (yet, that is!), however he has landed a role in the new action thriller The Anomaly!
We couldn’t be more excited to see Ian bust out his butt-kicking skills, but fans still can’t help but wonder about Fifty Shades of Grey.
Taking the stage at the Love & Blood Convention in Italy over the weekend, Ian was straightforward about addressing the rumors.
“I still don’t know if I’m going to perform the role of Christian Grey,” he admitted.
While we were hoping for a slightly different answer, at least we can find solace in the fact that Ian knows just as little as we do!
