When a couple as talented, attractive, and funny as Rachael Leigh Cook and The Originals’ Daniel Gillies (Elijah) decide to have a baby, you know the offspring is bound to wind up with some enviable genes. But in a recent interview with People magazine, mom-to-be Rachael admits she wasn’t ready to jump into parenthood right away.
“We’re both people who like kids, but we weren’t jumping up and down, like, ‘Oh my God, let’s start that chapter of our lives,’” she says of herself and Daniel. Instead, she and her husband of nearly 10 years decided to travel and live their lives as a couple for a while. After all, they married after knowing each other for less than a year.
Though she’s due in the fall, Rachael has continued to work on her TNT show, Perception. The actress admits at first there was some difficulty being on set while pregnant. “I was tired. I didn’t have any of the sickness, but the fatigue and all of the changes that are going on with your body on top of what goes on working a 15-hour day once you get through hair and makeup — in heels — is not that fun,” she says.
It’s sounds grueling enough with a person growing inside of you!
