Fifty Shades of Grey Casting: Who Will Play Christian Grey?

Who Will Play Christian Grey?

She explained, “What happened is that [my husband’s] local paper, he’s from Northern Ireland, there’s a newspaper there called the Belfast Telegraph that reported on my husband being the inspiration for Christian Grey. Underneath it they put a picture of Ryan Gosling, as well. So, that’s how that came about.”
Channing Tatum: When the Sexiest Man Alive had a Twitter interview with U.K.’s Glamour Magazine back in July, the mag asked him if he’d sign on to play Christian. Channing answered, “1) Yes. 2) I’d only be allowed if my wife was Ana. She’s read the books so I don’t think she’d be impressed if she couldn’t be Ana!”
Robert Pattinson: Fifty Shades of Grey started as Twilight fan fiction, so naturally star Robert Pattinson has been asked if he’d be interested in getting sexy in Seattle. “I am playing that part,” he joked in a recent interview, adding, “I also wrote the book.” We’re guessing that’s a no.
Matt Bomer: Writer Bret Easton Ellis landed himself in hot water (a familiar place for the American Psycho scribe) in August when he claimed Matt Bomer wouldn’t make a convincing Christian because he’s gay.
In defense of Matt’s obvious talent, as displayed on White Collar as the very straight and very delicious Neal Caffrey, co-star Alexandra Daddario gushed to Wetpaint Entertainment, “I think he’d be great.”
Henry Cavill: Is moviedom’s next Superman poised to trade in the iconic tights and cape for the trappings of a bad-boy business magnate? The 29-year-old British actor, who stars in a couple steamy fan-made trailers, told Details, “Whether that happens, that decision will be made at the time it has to be made. It would be a very different kind of thing than Man of Steel.”
Way to dodge that speeding bullet, Cavill.
Max Greenfield: In true Schmidt form, New Girl’s Max Greenfield would bring his shirtless A-game to Fifty Shades. When asked if he'd consider going full frontal for the role on the Emmy Awards 2012 red carpet, Max quipped, “[Nudity]’s not the issue. It’s the issue of whether they want to see that much intensity on screen.”
Jake Gyllenhaal: Jake’s puppy dog good looks may not jibe with the part of Christian, but we certainly wouldn’t mind ogling the actor sans shirt. “Of course! I always want to work, man, of course!” Jake told Ryan Seacrest when asked if he’d be down to tap into his dark side for the movie. “That's super flattering. I mean, I have not heard that, but if that’s true then that’s a nice thing. It's always nice to be considered.”
