'Vampire Diaries' spoilers: Return of the dead and new Elena scoop

"The Vampire Diaries" is getting ready for a big return on CW. On thursday, April 18th  Ace Showbiz shared new spoilers for the series. Spoiler TV also shared new comments made by Julie Plec about the series. Fans of this CW series will see the dead return before the end of the season. According to Ace Showbiz, one of the characters returning is Jeremy Gilbert. He died in during a recent episode. He isn't the only dead person to return though, but he is the only one being mentioned at this time. Steven R. McQueen is the actor behind the character.

Jeremy's death set of a chain reaction of events that caused Damon to help Elena shut off her humanity. The new Elena is far different than the Elena from the previous three seasons. Julie Plec teased what is coming next for Elena and the rest of the Mystic Falls gang in a new interview. She said the following, according to Spoiler TV:

"What's in store for her right now is, honestly, you've got these two boys who more than anything want her fixed. In the next episode they recruit some of her friends, as well over the next couple of episodes, in an attempt to get to her any way they can emotionally, whether it's through nostalgia, memories, through sneaky tricks of confronting her with things she has had feelings for in the past. Really building up to a hardcore intervention where they're just grasping to do anything to break through to her."

With the dead returning before the end of the season, this means that Silas is successful with his task, but it is not clear how successful he will be. Fans will have to keep watching to find out. Fans are buzzing about this series on social media. One fan said the following on Twitter recently:
