The Vampire Diaries is a show where witches can bring people back from the dead (although this is happening so much it's starting to look a bit like The Walking Dead), vampires kiss humans instead of ripping their throats out, and werewolves have silky smooth chests when they haven’t transformed. And we accept all of this without blinking an eye. Yet it’s the little things that make us scoff and say, “That would never happen.” Check out the biggest logic fails from Season 4, Episode 16, “Bring It On.”
Matt gets a new house — and it’s going to cost him lots of money!
Aw! Matty (Zach Roerig) has a nice place to live. But did Tyler (Michael Trevino) also leave his best friend some of the Lockwood family fortune, because heating that mansion is probably awfully expensive. And don’t get us started on the property taxes. Matt’s going to have to pick up so many extra shifts at the Grill. Sidenote: Matt probably wanted Jeremy’s (Steven R. McQueen) xbox last episode, and he probably could’ve maintained the Gilbert home much more easily.
Caroline taught Elena those routines fast!
Sure, Elena (Nina Dobrev) used to be a cheerleader — and she condescendingly told Caroline (Candice Accola) the routines were super easy — but that vampire picked up the competition-level cheer quite quickly. Of course, it probably makes it easier to pass off her dropping Caroline mid-routine by saying, “Well, she really should have had more than a couple hours to practice.”
The utter lack of concern over Silas
Rebekah (Claire Holt) tells Damon (Ian Somerhalder) that Shane (David Alpay) is dead, and he doesn't start to wonder why Bonnie (Kat Graham) would leave the guy who can help her bring back Jeremy? Meanwhile, poor Bonnie is home alone after having an epic meltdown, and no one can be bothered to visit the witch. Stefan (Paul Wesley) is a teensy bit worried about the Case of the Missing Blood Bags, but considering everything both Shane and Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) said about how wicked the ancient immortal is, it just wasn’t enough.
I just happen to have this vial of my brother’s blood.
Rebekah is to Klaus (Joseph Morgan) as Angelina Jolie is to Billy Bob Thornton. Basically, it’s just weird that Bex keeps her brother’s blood handy — especially because she’s an Original and werewolf venom doesn’t kill her.
Bonus: If you look closely at the photo above, you’ll see Mystic Falls High School has a “Seismology Club.” That school is so weird.
