O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!” There are certain times when only quoting Lewis Carroll will do. Daniel Gillies (Elijah) signing on for The Vampire Diaries’ Originals spin-off is one of them.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Daniel will join Joseph Morgan (Klaus) and Phoebe Tonkin (Hayley) in the April 25 backdoor pilot.
Though he’s also currently working on the Canadian show Saving Hope, Daniel’s filming schedule for the spin-off isn’t expected to interfere.
TVD executive producer Julie Plec said she’d love for Daniel to be part of the new show, but the ball was entirely in his court. Since we can’t get enough of either Mr. Gillies or Elijah, we’re delighted he wanted to head to New Orleans!
