Sets for The Vampire Diaries and The Originals are being built, the actors are wrapping up their summer movies and conventions, cameras sound like they’ll start rolling on July 11th, and now more good news has been announced by Julie Plec, executive producer for both The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, that the scripts for episode 1 of both shows have been completed. Vampires should be descending on Mystic Falls, aka Covington, GA, any day now!
According to Twitter tweets by Julie Plec, last week was really busy. On June 28th, they heard pitches for episode 5×04 of The Vampire Diaries and 1×03 and 1×04 of The Originals, and went through notes on 1×03 and act 1 and 2 of episode 1×02 of The Originals!
On June 30th, Julie tweeted that episodes 1 of The Vampire Diaries and The Tomorrow People are brilliant, thanks to writers Caroline Dries and Greg Berlanti, and episode 1 of The Originals will also be brilliant as soon as she and Michael Narducci finish it!
Julie on writing a pilot episode for a show you already wrote and aired a pilot for
YOU try writing one where the backstory covers 1000 years, an immortality spell, a hybrid curse, a vampire hunter, a miracle baby, a return to a city left 100 years ago after arriving 300 years ago having nothing to do with 1000 years ago.Guess it’s not easy!
On July 1 she tweeted that she landed at the Atlanta airport to get ready for a 2-day meet with everybody to get ready to start filming. A few hours later she tweeted that The Originals 1×01 episode was finally completed. No word on what the title is, but it will probably be “Pilot” since it’s the premiere episode.
