The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Spoilers: Will Silas Succeed as Stefan?

Would You Steal Stefan's Style
It’s been a few days since the Season 4 finale, so we’ve adjusted to the idea that Stefan (Paul Wesley) has a doppelganger — and it’s Silas. Julie Plec tells TV Guide what we can expect from the doubles in The Vampire Diaries Season 5.

First, here’s an interesting question: If there’s another Stefan-look-alike, could there be more than one? Julie agrees it’s a possibility, but says “as far as if we plan to introduce that or not? The answer is probably no for now.”

Paul Wesley is probably relieved to know he doesn’t have a third part to play come fall. Although, he’s stoked to be bad once again. “He's definitely excited,” Julie confirms.

But just how long will Silas be able to pull off his Stefan disguise? “I think that there's more fun to be played with people learning quickly, but independently of the other so there's a lot of good bait-and-switch Katherine-style stuff that could happen early in the season,” teases Julie, hinting the reveal will come sooner rather than later. “And people that know Stefan well will be able to catch on pretty quickly I would hope.”

Yeah, we would hope the same thing. Then again, Silas is psychic and can use that to tell everyone exactly what they want to hear. “Yes, Caroline, it’s totally possible to do a triple major in college...”

Who Is Sophie on The Originals? What You Need to Know About the Witch

Sophie in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 20: “The Originals”
In the pilot for The Originals, The Vampire Diaries’ new spin-off, we met a witch named Sophie (Daniella Pineda). In the space of the episode, she lost her sister to Marcel’s (Charles Michael Davis) machinations, revealed herself to be a walking EPT test, and teamed up with Klaus (Joseph Morgan) to take down New Orleans’ top vampire. So what do we know about Sophie, the witch who makes a mean batch of gumbo?
Sophie will just as soon make you that bowl of gumbo as plot your demise. “Sophie is a very genuine but no-BS kinda gal,” Daniella Pineda tells TVFanatic. “And she’s needed very much by Joseph Morgan to take down Marcel. So she might not be as powerful as a vampire, but she’s a certainly strategist and she’s necessary for this story.”
At The CW Upfronts, Daniella told Wetpaint Entertainment, “She’s like Buffy the Witch Slayer. … She’s kinda slaying vampires, but she’s a witch. But she also needs vampires in order to take down the main vampire. “
Sophie and her sister, Jane-Anne, captured Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), once Sophie — using her magical pregnancy-perceiving power — discovered the werewolf is due to have Klaus’s baby. The witches realized they could use the information as leverage to get the Original to help defeat Marcel. As the self-proclaimed “king of New Orleans,” Marcel forbids witches from practicing spell.
When Marcel learns that Jane-Anne performed magic (she was helping her sister take Hayley hostage), he kills her for breaking his rules. Though the two siblings had already planned on taking out Marcel, but Jane-Anne’s death convinced Sophie that it needed to be done. She proceeded with her sister’s plan, telling Klaus that Hayley is pregnant with his child. She explains, “as keepers of the balance we [witches] still know when nature has cooked up something new. For example, I have a special gift of sensing when a girl is pregnant.”
Apparently Sophie is responsible for Hayley and the baby thanks to the spell performed by her sister; that doesn’t mean she won’t kill it, though. She told Klaus, “Because of Jane-Anne's sacrifice, the lives of this girl and her baby are now controlled by us. If you don't help us take down Marcel, so help me, Hayley won't live long enough to see her first maternity dress.”
Eventually, Klaus comes around. But just killing Marcel won’t do the trick. Sophie tells Klaus there are rules. Instead, she explains her plan to the hybrid. “Your brother needs to cement his place in Marcel's world. His inner circle, the daywalkers-- that's where we begin. They're his friends, his family. We'll be hitting him where it hurts.”
Daniella wasn’t kidding about Sophie being a strategic thinker! We can’t wait to see what this witch has in store for the vampires of New Orleans!

The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Spoilers: Why Will Elena Struggle?

Look out! Vampire Diaries Season 5 spoilers from TV Guide!

There are a lot of reasons we think Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) will have a hard time in Season 5 of The Vampire Diaries. Even if she manages to compel her way into college, she barely attended class in her last two years of high school. Her ex-boyfriend is being impersonated by an evil witch/vampire hybrid. Her best friend is a ghost. But in a recent interview with TV Guide, Julie Plec piled more problems on the newbie vamp’s shoulds.

According to Julie, one of Elena’s biggest issues will be “protecting her secret. In Mystic Falls we've seen it's hard enough to keep your secret of who you are and what you are and now she's going out into a whole new location and a new life and living a double life as a human student and a secret vampire. There are going to be some struggles attached to that.”

We wonder if Whitmore — the college we assume most of the university-bound inhabitants of Mystic Falls are attending — will be as oblivious as the vampires’ hometown. Either way, we can’t wait to meet some new, clueless humans. Maybe Katherine (Nina Dobrev) could make a few friends!

The Vampire Diaries, Cast Nominated For Teen Choice Awards

It’s that time of year again, when surfboards are given out to the most worthy. The first round of the 2013 Teen Choice Awards nominations were announced today, and surprise, surprise, The Vampire Diaries is well represented!

In the Choice TV Show: Fantasy/Sci-Fi, TVD is up against a bunch of its fellow CW shows: Arrow, Beauty and The Beast, and Supernatural. Once Upon a Time was also nominated in the category.

For Choice TV Actress: Fantasy/Sci-Fi, Nina Dobrev (Elena Gilbert) and Kat Graham (Bonnie Bennett) are both in the running. Eek! Who to choose! They’ll battle it out with Katie Cassidy from Arrow, Ginnifer Goodwin of Once Upon a Time, and Beauty and the Beast’s Kristin Kreuk.

Yet another tough decision must be made when it comes to the Choice TV Actor: Fantasy/Sci-Fi noms. Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore) vs. Paul Wesley (Stefan Salvatore). Why must this happen every year? We love them both! The Supernatural brothers, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki, are also pitted against each other. Rounding out the category is our old TVD friend Stephen Amell of Arrow. (If you recall, he played a torture-happy werewolf in Season 2.)

Well, we’re officially not teens, so we don’t envy those of you who have to choose between Ian and Paul and Kat and Nina. We'd have to vote for everyone. Multiple times. Click here to vote!

The Vampire Diaries Season 4’s Hottest Hookups

Damon and Lexi
There’s hot, there’s hotter, and then there’s just plain... weird. When Damon took Elena to New York as part of his mission to re-humanize her, he was forced to share an awkward — but hot as hell — moment from his past. The moment in question? When he hooked up with Lexi! Sure, it was all a scam, but as far as scams go, it was pretty darn foxy.
Katherine and Elijah
To be totally honest, we don’t know if it was the idea of these two being together after knowing each other for hundreds of years, or the fact that Katherine (Nina Dobrev) and Elena share a face that made this particular twosome so drool-worthy.

On emotion-free Elena’s quest to find the cure, she found herself in a torrid liplock with none of other than the most well-dressed of all the Originals, Elijah (Daniel Gillies). In the process, we learn that Elijah and Katherine have been seeing each other. Though Elena calls into question her doppelganger's motives, it’s impossible to deny that Kat’s feelings for Elijah are real when she offers up the cure to him. Talk about your old school romance! Sadly, we fear that Elijah’s kiss-on-the-forehead goodbye was the end for these two.
Stefan and Rebekah
Since his brother was off with his ex-girlfriend, Stefan (Paul Wesley) deserved a little fun of his own. Rebekah (Claire Holt) fit the bill nicely. Rekindling their decades-old romance, Stefan told her, “crazy sex is always good.” They agreed to have a no-strings-attached fling, and damn. Was it crazy good!

The Vampire Diaries Season 4’s Hottest Hookups

Battling the supernatural, coming to grips with their new immortality, and hanging out with their packs of werewolves or hybrids doesn’t exactly leave a lot of spare time for the citizens of Mystic Falls. That said, when they do have an extra minute, these kids know how to prioritize. No, we’re not talking about stuff like graduating high school; we’re talking about some hot and heavy hookups. Magic and supernatural ass-kicking are all well and good, but Mystic Falls is also home to some of the sexiest moments on the small screen. Let’s look at our picks for Season 4’s hottest hookups on The Vampire Diaries.
Hayley and Klaus
Part of what made this dalliance so dreamy was that it came almost out of the blue. Klaus (Joseph Morgan) isn’t easily manipulated — unless you’re Caroline (Candice Accola) — and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) seemed to hold a candle for Tyler (Michael Trevino). So when drinks and dinner at casa Mikaelson turned into a steamy, pants-free dessert, we all got a little hot under the collar.

While both Hayley and Klaus swear up and down that their bang session was a one-time deal, Hayley’s shocking pregnancy has definitely been a game changer. We’ll have to check out The Originals to see what happens, but one way or another, Hayley and Klaus are in each other’s lives for at least 18 years.
Damon and Elena
Whereas Hayley and Klaus’s hookup was so hot because it came out of left field, when Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) finally got freaky it was the payoff some folks had been waiting for since the series began. As with most things, the fact that they had to keep the whole thing under wraps made it that much hotter. That said, Caroline and Stefan’s (Paul Wesley) discovery that Elena was sired to Damon might have put a damper on things, but that back-scratching glory was still seriously sexy.

The Vampire Diaries Season 5: 5 Questions We Want Answered

Caroline, Stefan, and Elena in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 10: “After School Special”
The Vampire Diaries always leaves us guessing, especially after that insane Season 4 finale! We have tons of questions that we hope will be answered in Season 5.

What will Jeremy’s cover story be?
JerBear (Steven R. McQueen) has an issue on his hands. His witchy ex Bonnie (Kat Graham) is dead and he’s supposed to be, too. The only problem? He’s alive and Bon-Bon asked him to cover for her before disappearing into the Other Side’s veil. How is he supposed to explain these occurrences? “Bonnie went to visit her mom”? Can you imagine Caroline’s (Candice Accola) response? Why didn’t she pack any clothes? Why don’t cellphones work there? How are we supposed to buy matching comforters for our dorm now? And as for the Jeremy-back-from-the-dead thing? Elena (Nina Dobrev) might be willing to overlook exactly how it happened and just be happy her brother’s alive again, but we can’t see, say, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) brushing it aside that easily.

Will Elena compel herself into college?
Just how long was Elena a complete, emotionless monster? She blamed her past-due college applications on her lack of humanity, but shouldn’t she have had them in months ago? Oh, well. Bottom line? She didn’t get into college the legit way. Will she use her vampire powers to compel herself a spot in Whitmore College’s freshman class? Otherwise Caroline is going to be pretty lonely come fall.

Would Katherine rather die than be human?
Katherine (Nina Dobrev) did not want to be human, but that’s just what she got. Just how badly does she want her fangs back? Without knowing the specifics of the cure, it’s hard to tell if it’s permanent — or if Kat can undergo the drink blood, die, come back, feed process all over again. Is that a risk she’s willing to take.

What brings Rebekah to New Orleans?
When last we left Rebekah (Claire Holt) and Matt (Zach Roerig), they were setting off on an around-the-world tour. Aw. We may see the pair at the beginning of Season 5, but she can’t stay in Mystic Falls forever. She’s due in New Orleans for The Originals. Does she finally realize she wants to be an aunt, or does something else draw her south?

Can Silas be defeated?
Silas is like the unkillable Klaus (Joseph Morgan) with Season 1 Bonnie’s psychic ability and Stefan’s (Paul Wesley) hair. That’s a winning combination. No, seriously. How can this guy ever die?

Where Is The Vampire Diaries Set?

Have you ever been to beautiful Mystic Falls, Virginia? Probably not. It’s not a real place. But it is the setting for the TV show The Vampire Diaries. What do you know? There are even falls there!

But the show doesn’t film in Virginia. The storefronts and homes are all actually located in Covington, Georgia, where the show films. If you find yourself in the Atlanta area, you should check it out! You can even go on a tour of the filming locations.

In Season 5 of The Vampire Diaries, the show will stretch its wings a bit. A few of the characters will head to Whtimore College, which executive producer Julie Plec says is close enough to do laundry. Meanwhile, the spin-off, The Originals, will be set in New Orleans. However, the show will also shoot in Atlanta, Georgia.

As for actually visiting Mystic Falls, well, that you’ll have to do on Thursdays at 8 p.m. on The CW.

Nina Dobrev Says WHAT Gives Her Wood?!

Nina Dobrev Shoots the Cover of Cosmopolitan on May 21, 2013

Season 4 of The Vampire Diaries has come to an end, but Nina Dobrev isn’t slowing down for a second.

After making an appearance at the CW Upfronts on May 16 in NYC, the brunette beauty headed back to LA to shoot the cover of an upcoming issue of Cosmopolitan magazine.

On Tuesday, May 21, Nina took to Twitter to give her fans a behind-the-scenes peek at the photoshoot. “My Cosmo shoot [Quote of the Day]. ‘Less is NOT more. Less might be more appropriate sometimes, but Less is always just Less,’” she tweeted, quoting her makeup artist Kristofer Buckle.

After getting glammed up from head to toe, the 24-year-old actress was ready for her close-up!

“@cosmopolitan is giving me wood,” she wrote, while posing alongside hairstylist John D. “Shooting me in the woods that is. Get your head out of the gutter!”

Now that we know Nina has such a dirty sense of humor, we love her even more than we did before!

Will Matt Cross Over on The Originals? Vampire Diaries Speculation

Rebekah and Matt in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 23: "Graduation"

Though Matt Donovan (Zach Roerig) promised to keep his love life a “low-vampire zone” in The Vampire Diaries Season 4 finale, he still agreed to ride off into the sunset with Rebekah (Claire Holt) on a magical vacation. At least for now.

We hope they don’t killed each other on their trip. You know how couples — and pseudo-couples — tend to fight on vacation! And Rebekah has already almost murdered Matt once...

Here’s the thing. Bex is leaving for New Orleans when The Originals starts in the fall. Because of her familial ties, the vampire will have to abandon her quarterback, who swore their fling was only temporary anyway. But executive producer Julie Plec tells TV Guide that their romance might now be over right away.

Season 5 of TVD will experience a bit of a time jump. The summer will be over, and those who were accepted to institutions of higher learning will go to college. As for Matt and Rebekah, “We'll definitely see them when we start up next season,” Julie says. “As far as I know they may even still be in Europe when we find them.”

That would be fun to see! But if she’s still on vacation, it sounds like Bex is unsure if she’ll move to Louisiana. It's less likely we’ll actually start Matt’s story on The Originals. “We do have the ability to use Rebekah on either show in the beginning,” Julie tells TVLine.

Perhaps his time with Rebekah will soften Matt to the idea of a vampire girlfriend. After all, there aren’t that many human girls left in Mystic Falls. Or maybe he will let the Original compel him into Whitmore College, where some of his old friends are going. The non-supernatural pickings might be less slim there.

Either way, we hope Rebekah and Matt stay pen pals at the very least. And Matt could do a lot worse than spending his spring break in New Orleans.

Will We Ever See Kol on The Originals? Julie Plec Says...

Kol in Vampire Diaries Season 3, Episode 14: “Dangerous Liaisons”

Fans of The Vampire Diaries’ Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) were likely hoping he would be the ghost brought back to life in the Season 4 finale. That way, the cute-but-cruel vampire could join his siblings on The Originals spin-off.

Alas, it was not to be, and Kol remains on the Other Side. It’s just as well, though. He probably couldn’t leave Mystic Falls without murdering Elena (Nina Dobrev), and that would cause some real problems for TVD.

Yet in this vampire universe, just because someone is dead, it doesn’t mean they’re gone for good. Executive producer Julie Plec — who will be pulling double duty on TVD and The Originals next season — has promised Twitter followers that she is well aware of Kol fans’ passion.

“[W]ill we ever see Kol again? I miss him,” tweeted a fan. “Hopefully in flashbacks in The Originals,” Julie replied.

This makes a lot of sense. The show will follow the family of vampires and most likely give a lot of back story from the last time they lived in New Orleans. A hundred years ago, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) put his younger brother in a coffin for a century, and we have to know what Kol’s offence was!

Nathaniel has said he’s open to appearing on the show, so let’s hope scheduling works out!

The Vampire Diaries Season 5 — 10 Things We Want to See

Damon, Elena, and Stefan in a Season 4 Vampire Diaries Promo

The Vampire Diaries Season 4 just finished, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t anticipating Season 5! The CW show won’t return until October, but we’re already dreaming up plot points. Check out 10 things we want to see when TVD returns — and everyone heads to college!

A hot new teacher
Look, Professor Shane (David Alpay) and his spirit tea stash aren’t what we’re looking for in a college teacher. We’re thinking something more along the lines of... Alaric’s (Matt Davis) non-evil doppelganger? Does one doppelganger have to be evil? We’re not sure how this works. In any case, Alaric with elbow patches on his tweed jackets, please.

Problem-solving without spells
Bonnie (Kat Graham) can just snap her fingers and light candles. Who even needs a Clapper anymore? Over the seasons, the witch has become more and more powerful. Now that she’s on the Other Side, we’ll be interested to see if her pals can figure out their problems without her offering to sacrifice herself every five seconds.

Silas being really, really bad — as Stefan (Paul Wesley)
Paul Wesley is so very good at playing wicked. It’s amazing that TVD found a way to tap into that without making him the Ripper all over again. We hope he gets to pull some really nasty tricks as Silas.

More humans
It’s nice that Matt (Zach Roerig) is representing the humans in Mystic Falls, but it would be nice if he had some company. Now that (some of) the gang is headed to college, maybe a few new undead faces are in order?

Elena (Nina Dobrev) taking care of herself
It was hard to watch Elena, who had just become a badass vampire, still rely so heavily on Stefan and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) in Season 4. Now that she’s grown into her fangs, let’s hope she can stand on her own two feet. Although, Damon would be less out of place on a college campus than he was at Mystic Falls High School’s extracurricular events.

Crossovers
We’ll miss the Originals now that they’re on their own show — appropriately titled The Originals. But we hope there will be lots of opportunities for Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah (Daniel Gillies), and Rebekah (Claire Holt) will find a reason to drop by Mystic Falls. Or everyone can road trip to New Orleans.

A more secure Damon
Now that he’s won the girl, sire-bond free, let’s hope Damon can start to relax and enjoy his time with Elena. After all, this is TVD and who knows how long it will last? He spent most of Season 4 worried that Elena didn’t really love him. Hopefully that makeout session proved it to him.

A non-romantic plot for Caroline (Candice Accola)
Caroline ping-ponged between Tyler (Michael Trevino) and Klaus this year. Whether or not her hybrid boyfriend returns now that his banishment has been lifted, let’s hope she gets to have some really kickass adventures. As much as we love to see her planning proms and applying glitter to signs, we know there’s much more to Caroline.

Katherine (Nina Dobrev) on a diet
OK, she’ll probably have bigger problems to worry about than her waistline, but it will be fun to see Katherine go through all the struggles of being a human. How will she make friends now? Who will teach her about wrinkle cream and condoms? We’re just saying. The only person who would make a worse parent than Kat is Klaus. Oh, wait...

Qetsiyah
This witch is crazy. She created a whole plane of existence just to trap the guy she’s had a crush on for the last 2,000 years. We need to see Bon-Bon’s relative. Maybe she’s on the Other Side with her great-great-great-etc granddaughter?

Vampire Diaries’ Marguerite MacIntyre Joins The Originals as a Writer

Huge congratulations are in order to Marguerite MacIntyre, who plays Sheriff Forbes on The Vampire Diaries. She’s joining the show’s spin-off, The Originals, but not as Caroline’s (Candice Accola) mother.

Liz Tigelaar — a writer for Nashville and Life Unexpected’s executive producer — tweeted the news last night. “Congrats to @Caryshotwife who not only rocks sheriff pants on #TVD but is also a writer on #TheOriginals. #yay #doublethreat,” she wrote.

This isn’t Marguerite’s first foray into writing. She wrote for Pretty Tough, a web series based on books by none other than Liz Tigelaar.
In case you didn’t know, Marguerite is also pretty close friends with TVD executive producer Julie Plec. She told Entertainment Weekly of her bestie, “I have what I call my Cosmo Girls, which is Liz Tigelaar and Marguerite MacIntyre, who plays Sheriff Forbes on The Vampire Diaries and was also on Kyle XY and who is an exceptional writer. She is our secret weapon. Liz and I, each struggling to break our own story or just dealing with plotting or creative frustrations, will talk it through with each other and talk it through with Marguerite, and inevitably, Marguerite will be the one to come up with the solution. [Laughs] So she could make a living being the writer muse.”

Looks like this secret weapon has a full-time job — though we hope the Sheriff will be able to stop by Caroline’s dorm from time to time on Vampire Diaries!

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers — Season 5: Is Katherine the New Elena?

Elena or Katherine? Who's Your Doppelganger Bestie?

Get ready for more balance in The Vampire Diaries Season 5. Executive producer Julie Plec tells TV Guide that Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Katherine (Nina Dobrev) will be switching roles a bit.

"One thing we're looking forward to so much next season is Elena on her own as a vampire and living her new life in college," says Julie. "And to see a vulnerable Katherine, who is able to be hurt and able to be killed and in need of the protection much like the first Elena we met four years ago."

Julie promises the reversal — a stronger, more independent Elena and a weaker Katherine — will be fun to watch.

After all the horrible things Katherine has done, it will be interesting to see who steps up to help the new human. We’d say Stefan (Paul Wesley), but he’ll be locked up for a bit. Maybe Damon (Ian Somerhalder) will show some mercy?

Then again, Julie teased to TVLine that not everyone will be forgiving. “Absolutely nothing is going to stop everyone from trying to kill her,” Julie explained. “That’s what puts her in a pickle that is going to have her seeking out protection from unlikely sources.”

Good luck with that, Kat!

Following his appearance at the “Bite Me, I’m Famous” convention in Paris, Paul Wesley made a hop, skip, and a jump over to Cannes for the 66th Annual International Film Festival.

On Tuesday, May 21, The Vampire Diaries star looked drop-dead gorgeous as he walked the red carpet in a sleek tuxedo for the premiere of Cleopatra.

Earlier in the day, Paul reunited with his old friend Ben McKenzie for a screening of HBO’s Behind the Candelabra.

“On a romantic date with @ben_mckenzie,” Paul joked on Twitter. “Appropriately seeing the new HBO Liberace film.”

The following afternoon, Paul kicked back with a cold one while visiting the Stella Artois Suite inside the Radisson Blu Hotel.

Joseph Morgan’s Girlfriend? Is The Originals Star Dating Persia White?

Joseph Morgan and Persia White at the CW Upfront After-Party on May 16, 2013

Our Joseph Morgan-loving hearts about broke when he split from Revenge star Emily VanCamp. But we’ve been wondering for a while if he’s found a new love in his former Vampire Diaries co-star Persia White.

Though Persia plays Bonnie’s (Kat Graham) mother, she’s only 35. (Of course, it's a bit of art imitating life, as Persia has a 16-year-old daughter of her own.) That’s three years older than the just-turned-32 Joseph Morgan. While it seems the two met on the TVD set, they’ve also worked together outside the TV show. The gorgeous actress starred in Joseph’s 10-minute film Revelation.

Since then, the two have been spotted together a few times. They walked the red carpet together at the 52nd Monte Carlo TV Festival in August 2012.

In March, Persia was in Atlanta and appeared with Joseph on the local CBS affiliate to talk about Revelation. You can watch the video below to see if you spot any clues about whether they’re dating.

The real kicker is a photo from the recent CW Upfronts. Joseph attended to promote his new show The Originals. Persia was there, holding his hand.

It’s not clear why she’d be at the event, except in support of Joseph. While she does have a guest-starring role on TVD, the only other representatives from that show in attendance were two of the main stars, Nina Dobrev (Elena Gilbert) and Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore).

It’s certainly compelling evidence to us! What do you think?

The Vampire Diaries Cast Tweets Sadness Over Oklahoma Tornadoes

On Monday afternoon, a two-mile-wide tornado struck several suburban areas outside Oklahoma city. While early reports suggested as many as 51 people were killed, CNN’s most recent story says the number was adjusted down to 24, including nine children.

In addition, the storm left devastation in its wake, leveling buildings and leaving piles of debris. The images of the destruction have shocked many, including the cast of The Vampire Diarie. Several of the actors tweeted their sadness, thoughts, and prayers to those affected.

Nina Dobrev (Elena Gilbert), Kat Graham (Bonnie Bennett), Sara Canning (Jenna Sommers), and Arielle Kebbel (Lexi) all took to Twitter to express their condolences.

Nina wrote, “Sending my thoughts and prayers to those in Oklahoma at this time. This tornado which was estimated to be 2 miles wide. Has devastated many. Destroying homes, elementary schools + lives. My heart goes out to you all. PLS-Go to RYOT to help-http://say.ly/eHk5RUm.”

RYOT is a news site where every story includes a link that allows readers to donate to a cause connected to the subject matter. For example, the article Nina linked to is collecting money for the tornado victims. Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore), Nina’s co-star and ex-boyfriend, sits on the site’s advisory board.

“Hey guys, let's send our thoughts and prayers to everyone in Oklahoma. #PrayForOklahoma #staystrong,” Kat tweeted, showing her support for the victims. Sara was equally concerned for those in the storm’s path, writing, “Shocked by footage from Oklahoma. Prayers for all in the horrifying path of damage.”

Arielle tweeted, “Many prayers 2 those that experienced the Oklahoma  tornado,” and then added information about how her followers can help: “Moore Tornado victims: Text STORM 80888 for Salvation Army, REDCROSS text 90999 or FOOD text 32333 for 10$ donations. Pls help if you can!”

If you want to get involved, you can follow Arielle’s advice or go to the Red Cross’s site to donate online, or donate by phone at 1-800-RED CROSS.

Amazon Now Publishing Your Vampire Diaries Fanfiction on Kindle Worlds

Alaric may not have become a perma-ghost on The Vampire Diaries, but he lives on in fanfiction. Now writers who appropriate the characters and cannon from worlds such as TVD in their own work can be paid for their labors through Amazon. The newly announced Kindle Worlds lets fanfic-ers publish their stories and receive royalties from the sales.

Three franchises owned by Alloy Entertainment, Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars, and Gossip Girl, are all included in the new venture. Amazon hopes to include more licenses soon.

Amazon isn’t going to publish any old thing. They’ll comb the submissions and only publish the ones they want; the e-books will then sell for between $0.99 and $3.99. There are some guidelines for getting your work published, including no pornography, no offensive content, and no crossovers. This means your Buffy/TVD mash-up is ineligible. And if you describe Elijah’s suits as Armani one too many times, that’s another no-no. Amazon frowns on excessive branding.

So is it worth it? With Kindle Worlds, writers get 35 percent of the net for works over 10,000 words. As Forbes points out, those who use Amazon to self-publish e-books receive 70 percent of the profit. However, not everyone can be EL James and have their Twilight fanfic turned into a blockbuster book.

Also, if you look at the legal language, Amazon will own any elements you create in your work; if someone else uses a character you create in a story, Amazon doesn't have to compensate you: "When you submit your story in a World, you are granting Amazon Publishing an exclusive license to the story and all the original elements you include in that story. This means that your story and all the new elements must stay within the applicable World. We will allow Kindle Worlds authors to build on each other’s ideas and elements. We will also give the World Licensor a license to use your new elements and incorporate them into other works without further compensation to you."

Would you pay for fanfic? Are you scrolling through your Tumblr now to find submissions?

The Vampire Diaries Season 4 DVDs: Julie Plec Teases the Extras

The Vampire Diaries Season 4 DVD Cover Set

Our favorite thing about watching The Vampire Diaries on DVD? No commercials! It makes marathoning so much easier. The next best thing? The extras! According to the Warner Bros. shop — where you can pre-order the DVDs or Blu-Rays now — the Season 4 boxset set will come out on August 27, 2013.

Executive producer Julie Plec gave us a few hints about what extras we can expect when the DVDs finally arrive in our mailboxes. She tweeted, “Just signed off on the TVDS4 DVD extras. Such great stuff. So proud of our show, everyone who works so hard on it, & the beautiful fandom. Yes, there is a blooper reel.  Tons of deleted scenes.  A tribute to our glorious propmaster @joeprops. A fun segment from a fan. Plus more.”

Fun! We have to say, the props department gets serious, well, props this season. Joe Connolly is the man behind all of Connor’s (Todd Williams) and Vaughn’s (Charlie Bewley) marvelous hunting toys. Rebekah (Claire Holt) likely won’t forget that stake bomb she had planted in her chest any time soon.

The blooper reel is always the best part, so to tide you over until August (so far away!), below are Season 3’s hilarious outtakes.

When Will The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Be On?

TVD will remain in its usual slot on Thursday nights at 8 pm. Instead of being paired with Beauty and the Beast, a new series called Reign will follow the vampire series.

The Originals, The Vampire Diaries’ spin-off starring Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and his bloodsucking siblings Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Rebekah (Claire Holt), as well as werewolf Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), will air Tuesdays at 8 pm. It’s being paired with fan-favorite Supernatural, so let’s hope Winchester lovers will be on board with seeing the Original family’s power struggles in New Orleans.

TVD executive producer and Originals creator Julie Plec will be pulling triple duty come fall, because her other new show The Tomorrow People — which follows Robbie Amell’s character as he begins to learn about his startling new abilities — follows Arrow at 9 pm on Wednesdays. That’s two Amells for the price of one. Stephen and Robbie are cousins.

The Vampire Diaries Season 5: Clues About What Will Happen

Stefan and Damon's Relationship? It's Complicated

We love The CW Upfronts. Not only did we get a schedule of shows, but we got some tantalizing clues about The Vampire Diaries Season 5.

In a press release announcing its fall 2013 schedule, the network also gave a brief description of TVD’s fifth season. We’ll take what we can get!

After giving some details about Season 4, the press release teases, “the question of who will take the cure is resolved in the heart-stopping season finale, along with moments of unexpected joy, unspeakable sorrow, and a confession of true love. The series heads into its fifth season with some characters headed off to college, a newly cured vampire trying to survive as a human, and a shocking Salvatore secret.”

The first two clues aren’t too surprising. We knew at least a few of Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) friends made it in to college and would be heading their separate ways come fall. It sounds like the cure isn’t reversible — or whomever took it wants to stay human for a while. But what’s really interesting is the Salvatore secret. Is it Stefan (Paul Wesley) or Damon (Ian Somerhalder) who’s hiding something?

Are we alone in hoping it’s a long-lost, equally hot third brother?

Read the full description below:

THURSDAY
8:00-9:00 P.M.  “THE VAMPIRE DIARIES”
In the tumultuous fourth season of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, the world of Mystic Falls was turned upside down when the beautiful and compassionate Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) came face-to-face with her worst nightmare – life as a vampire.  While Elena struggled to control her new powers and the overwhelming thirst for blood, the astonishing news that a cure for vampirism may actually exist reached Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) Salvatore, the two vampire brothers who love her.  Their search for the cure leads the brothers, along with Elena’s brother Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and her best friends Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Caroline (Candice Accola), to a horrifying confrontation with the ancient and all-powerful immortal, Silas, who has been entombed with the cure for more than 2,000 years.  But Elena isn’t the only vampire who longs to return to life as a human, and the question of who will take the cure is resolved in the heart-stopping season finale, along with moments of unexpected joy, unspeakable sorrow, and a confession of true love.  The series heads into its fifth season with some characters headed off to college, a newly cured vampire trying to survive as a human, and a shocking Salvatore secret. Based on the series of books by L. J. Smith, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Outerbanks Entertainment, Alloy Entertainment, Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios.  The series was developed by Kevin Williamson (“The Following,” “Scream”) & Julie Plec (“Kyle XY,” “Wasteland”), who serve as executive producers along with Leslie Morgenstein (“Gossip Girl,” “Pretty Little Liars”) and Caroline Dries (“Melrose Place,” “Smallville”).

Vampire Diaries Season 5: Paul Wesley Excited For Stefan’s Doppelganger

Stefan in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 9: “Oh Come, All Ye Faithful”
Caution! Don’t read these Vampire Diaries spoilers from E! Online if you haven’t watched the Season 4 finale!

Were you shocked by the big reveal in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 23, “Graduation”? Silas has been keeping his face hidden from the world, tricking even Bonnie Bennett (Kat Graham) into thinking he looked like a hideous monster.

Instead, the truth is that Silas is pretty hot! How hot? He’s Stefan’s (Paul Wesley) doppelganger. What all of the whats?! With the real Stefan locked up and under water, Paul Wesley is looking forward to sinking his teeth into the nastier role of Silas.

At the CW Upfronts, Nina Dobrev told E! Online that Paul Wesley can’t wait to for Season 5. "There's a big reveal that happens in the finale that changes, that will create a whole new vibe in the fifth season,” she said, “and I know Paul was excited about this.”

She added, “He’s gonna kick some major ass, and he’s gotten his work cut out for him.”

After seeing Paul’s turn as the rippaaaaah, we think he can handle his own evil doppelganger.

Vampire Diaries Season 4 Finale — Julie Plec Answers Your Questions

The Vampire Diaries Season 4 finale left so many questions unanswered, but luckily E! Online spoke with executive producer Julie Plec. She gave them all the scoop on what went down and what we can expect from Season 5.

Why is Stefan Silas’s doppelganger? “He [Paul Wesley] did such a good job playing Ripper Stefan, so we wanted to play a long-foiled plan into motion that we weren't sure if we'd get to it before the end of the season or not; we always had it in our back pocket to reveal it right around the time it felt right.”

Will we learn more about the Salvatore family in Season 5? “[O]ne of the things we're talking about is definitely learning more about the history of the Salvatore family. I would say that at this point the things we don't know yet are fair game.”

What will Silas-as-Stefan do? “[T]he cure's off the table, the Other Side's off the table, so he's going to have a pretty enormous plan B for how to deal with that.”

Will Damon and Elena be a couple? "Next for them as a couple is a long-distance relationship as Elena heads off to her new life at college and Damon sticks behind In Mystic Falls to hold down the fort. We get to see them happy, believe it or not, for a little while before of course circumstances and other supernatural influence comes in to drive an obstacle in their path.”

What will happen to human Katherine? “Not only is she on the verge of getting her ass kicked every single episode, she's going to need protection and who better to seek out for protection than the brother Salvatore who have been so good at caring on and off for her over the centuries?”

Will Bonnie (and Kat Graham) be back? “Kat will still be a regular, business as usual. She just now has the mother of all obstacles preventing her and Jeremy from being able to have the physical relationship that we've danced around for so long.”

Where’s everyone going to college? “The best part about it is that we've got a town that we've very firmly established and the university that we've established with Whitmore College, which is not in Mystic Falls, but certainly close enough that you can roll home on a Saturday and do a load of laundry.”

The Vampire Diaries Season 4: Damon and Elena Considered For Cure

Damon Lied About Sleeping With a Sired Elena

Just when you thought The Vampire Diaries Season 4 finale couldn’t get any more mind-bending, Julie Plec reveals to E! Online that she’d intended for a different vamp to get the cure all along.

Katherine (Nina Dobrev) became human when Elena (Nina Dobrev) shoved the vial into her mouth during their doppelganger brawl. But Julie says they’d meant to cure Elena the whole time.

“Interestingly enough, when Kevin [Williamson] and I, back in season zero, when we first launched the series and started talking about knowing that one day we'd make Elena a vampire and with that move would come the realization that there was a cure; I think in the back of our heads we always intended to heal Elena,” says Julie.

Deciding that stripping Elena of her fangs was “too easy,” Julie hit upon the idea of curing Damon (Ian Somerhalder). “Instantly, we decided that the person that needed to be cured, that made the most sense from a story point of view, that would be a great surprise, would be Damon,” she explains. “We believed that because of all people he's the one that said he missed being human, but he's also the one who relished the most being a vampire.”

Then Julie realized that many a fan had figured out the plan by reading comments online and scrapped it. However, she thinks the story turned out better this way. “I think part of Damon's delightful charm as a vampire is that he is a vampire and I'm not so sure outside of the novelty of turning him human that we'd be able to get as much as we would have wanted to dramatically,” she says. “We played around with a lot of other ideas for a little while before realizing the answer was so clear and so obvious and so right in front of us.”

Will Kat’s inherent wits and charm be enough to keep her alive in Season 5? We can’t wait to find out!

Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev, The Originals Cast Attend CW Upfront

Nina Dobrev at the 2012 CW Upfronts

Look out, New York City.

A few members of The Vampire Diaries cast and The Originals crew will be descending upon the Big Apple on Thursday, May 16 for the CW Upfront. It’s the network’s annual event to triumphantly roll out its fall TV schedule and let the CW’s attractive roster of actors work the red carpet. It just so happens to be the same day as TVD’s big Season 4 finale!

Among the attendees will be TVD stars Nina Dobrev (Elena Gilbert) and Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore), who haven’t been seen together since they reportedly split last week.

Also attending the event will be The Originals cast members Daniel Gillies (Elijah), Claire Holt (Rebekah), Phoebe Tonkin (Hayley), Charles Michael David (Marcel), Daniella Pineda (Sophie), Leah Pipes (Camille), and Danielle Campbell (Davina).

Hopefully we’ll get to hear more details about when exactly The Originals will be premiering and whether we can expect future crossovers with The Vampire Diaries.

Wetpaint Entertainment will be on the red carpet, talking to the stars of the two shows about the TVD finale, Season 5, and what we can expect from The Originals. What questions are you dying for us to ask them the CW Upfront? Hit the comments below, and let us know!

Following their appearance at the CW Upfronts on Thursday, May 16, the cast of the Vampire Diaries chose to spend the rest of the day in NYC in a variety of ways.

After slipping out of her form-fitting frock and into a cozy sundress, Nina Dobrev met up with old high school friends for an afternoon of food, fun, and girlfriend bonding!

Ian Somerhalder, on the other hand, chose to spend the day alone, as he visited his favorite cafe and ran a few errands. “In a cafe that I've been going to for 18yrs,alone-summer in NYC. So many amazing memories,” Ian tweeted in mid-afternoon.

After wrapping up his solo lunch, Ian was spotted shopping at Ricky’s beauty supply, where he replaced items that were lost with his luggage. “Running around NY like a maniac replacing my clothes, luggage & toiletries,” he tweeted later in the day. “This strike in Brussels has really done a number on me…”

Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev “Still Friends” After Breakup: Report

Breaking up is hard to do, but it doesn’t always have to be awkward after the fact.

Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev reportedly called it quits last week after three years of dating. The two Vampire Diaries stars reunited at the CW Upfronts on May 16 for the first time since the news of their split. While they walked the red carpet separately and generally kept their distance from one another, a source tells E! News the former couple are still very much friends.

“There’s no bad blood between them,” said the insider of Ian and Nina.

The source added there was no blowout fight or cheating involved in Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev’s breakup. The relationship ended primarily because 24-year-old Nina wasn’t quite ready to settle down with 34-year-old Ian, said the insider.

“They still talk daily,” continued the source. “This wasn’t something out of the blue.”

We’re glad (and relieved, frankly) to hear Ian and Nina are still friendly! It makes the prospect of them filming scenes together for The Vampire Diaries Season 5 seem much less uncomfortable. And lord knows, there will probably be a ton of Delena scenes for Ian and Nina to film next season.

Top 5 Vampire Diaries OMG Moments From the Season 4 Finale

Elena Is Upset in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 23: "Graduation"

Still stunned after all the twists and turns in The Vampire Diaries Season 4 Episode 23, “Graduation”? Same here. That’s why we’re bringing you the Top 5 OMG Moments that had us hitting “rewind” on our DVR remotes over and over.

Rebekah swaps places with Matt, mid-kiss.
Young Matt (Zach Roerig) has not had an easy go of it. Rebekah (Claire Holt), the girl who once longed to be human, felt a kinship with the handsome quarterback. When her ex Alexander had him balancing on board rigged with explosives, she decided to protect Matt. After planning a once-in-a-lifetime (if you’re human) trip around the world together, she told him, “The first rule of truly living: Do the thing you’re most afraid of.” As she dove in for the kiss, she used her vamp powers to maneuver him to safety and took his place on perilous perch. Then she told him to go to graduation.

Elena tells Damon she’s in love with him.
Normally these kinds of moments are reserved for the last few minutes of an episode. But after Klaus (Joseph Morgan) cured Damon’s (Ian Somerhalder) werewolf wound, Elena (Nina Dobrev) was angry with him — in the way one can only be with someone they care about deeply. The vampire was willing to let himself die rather than become human. And he wasn’t sorry. “There’s no apology in the world that encompasses all the reasons I’m wrong for you,” he told her. Elena decided she wasn’t sorry either. “In death, you’re the one that made me feel most alive,” she said. Then she said the words Delena fans have been willing to hear: “I love you, Damon.” Is it just us, or did the fire’s flames seem to burn a little brighter, climb a little higher?

Katherine’s grudge match with Elena turns her human.
Two identical vampires enter, only one leaves undead. Katherine (Nina Dobrev) decided she’d had enough of her doppelganger stealing her happiness (what? Elena’s been miserable for years!) and tried to rip out her heart. “Bye-bye, little girl,” snarled Lady K. Instead, Elena reached into her pocket, pulled out the cure, jammed it inside Kat’s mouth, and forced her to bite down. “Have a nice human life, Katherine,” Elena told her now-human doppelganger.

Jeremy’s alive — and Bonnie’s still dead.
It was supposed to be their final moment together. Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) went to find Bonnie (Kat Graham) when she was closing the veil so they could say goodbye. When little Gilbert seemed at a loss for words, the witch kissed him. It turned out, though, that her spell to bring him back from the dead worked. Jeremy gasped back to life and went to hug her. “Why can’t I feel you,” he demanded; then the realization dawned on him that Bonnie was dead. “You can see ghosts. We can talk whenever we want,” she promised. Then she walked away with her Grams.

Silas has a doppelganger — and it’s Stefan?!
Of all the OMGs, this was the OMG-iest. Silas was freed from Bonnie’s petrification spell when she died. Just as Stefan (Paul Wesley) thought he was getting rid of the ancient immortal for good, Silas decided to show his true face to Stefan. He told the vampire, “I created the immortality spell 2,000 years ago. I could never die, so nature needed to find a balance. A version of me that could die. A shadow-self. A doppelganger.” That doppelganger? It’s Stefan. Instead of killing his double, Silas just staked him and sealed him up in a vault, which he tossed into the water. The last show was the bloodsucker panicking as the box filled with water.

How Were the Ratings For The Vampire Diaries Season 4 Finale?

Elena Grabs Damon in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 23: "Graduation"

The Vampire Diaries Songs: Music From the Season 4 Finale

Elena and Caroline in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 23: "Graduation"

Could the Season 4 finale of The Vampire Diaries been any crazier? Klaus professed his love to Caroline! Katherine was forced to the take the cure! Stefan is Silas’s shadow self?!

Of course, “Graduation” wouldn’t nearly be what it was if it wasn’t for the music driving the story along. TVD maestro Chris Mollere did us proud once again!
Song: “You Give Love a Bad Name”
Artist: Bon Jovi
Music Moment: Opening scene; Stefan and Lexi get drunk and dance around the mansion
Lyrics:
Shot through the heart / And you're to blame / Darlin' you give love a bad name / An angel's smile is what you sell / You promise me heaven, then put me through Hell / Chains of love got a hold on me / When passions a prison, you can't break free / Oh, you're a loaded gun, yeah / Oh, there's nowhere to run / No one can save me / The damage is done / Shot through the heart / And you're to blame / You give love a bad name / I play my part and you play your game / You give love a bad name
Song: “Dance in the Graveyards”
Artist: Delta Rae
Music Moment: Elena, Jeremy, and Alaric hang out in the graveyard
Lyrics:
When I die / I don’t want to rest in peace / I want to dance in joy / I want to dance in the graveyards, the graveyards / And while I’m alive / I don’t want to be alone / Mourning the ones who came before / I want to dance with them some more / Let’s dance in the graveyards / Gloria, like some other name we kept on calling ya and waiting for change / But I belong to all of your mysteries / And all of us, we’re meant for the fire, but we keep rising up and walking the wires / So when we go below don’t lose us in mourning
Song: “Gone”
Artist: Olivia Broadfield
Music Moment: Everyone arrives at school and graduation begins
And I gave you all I’m sure I can give / But it’s not enough / And I feel it sting / And our roses died / And the neighbors knew / And the house moved on to someone new / And I know you won’t be satisfied / Til the fire inside burns like you once knew / But it’s gone / And I’m leaving / And you’re storm keeps on raging / Yes, I’m gone / And I’m leaving / And you’re storm keeps on raging
Song: “Belong”
Artist: Cary Brothers
Music Moment: Stefan overhears Elena professing her love for Damon
Lyrics:
Wake up lonely with you by my side / One more night it doesn't feel / There are movies playing in your eyes / You dream of our fortunes / But you're wrong / I don't belong to you / The moon is the only friend I have outside / One more drink and I'll be healed / I told you the words and then knew it was a lie / I wish I could offer an appeal / You're wrong / I don't belong / You're wrong / I don't belong to you
Song: “When I Was Younger”
Artist: Liz Lawrence
Music Moment: Stefan packs up to leave; Jeremy tells Bonnie he’s ready to go back to the Other Side
Lyrics:
When I was younger / I told my mother / I said, One day I’m gonna make you proud / Now that I’m older / It’s so much harder to say those words out loud / You’re growing taller / A little smarter / And one day you’re gonna leave home / Oh, will you look like your mother’s father / When you are fully grown / When I was younger / I asked my father / Why are we so human / Now that I’m older / I think I figured it out / We’re just doing what we can
Song: “In the Stream”
Artist: S. Carey
Music Moment: Bonnie says goodbye to Jeremy; Matt tells Rebekah he wants to leave town with her
Lyrics:
I was folded by ferns / You could return, the earth / All to her / Open mouth / Look up now / Fall my failures / To the ground / I know, I know, I know all them / I am wind in the pines / I am a line you can't define / When the dawn breaks / In my love-lock landscapes / I know, I know, I know all them / Be in my vision / My gardener / I’ll be an architect / On window stream / And I’ll be in the stream

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Were Elena’s Feelings For Damon Real?

Elena Grabs Damon in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 23: "Graduation"

Be careful! Vampire Diaries spoilers from E! Online below!

Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) sire bond to Damon (Ian Somerhalder) certainly complicated The Vampire Diaries’ love triangle throughout Season 4. Not only were her feelings for the elder Salvatore called into question, so was her rejection of Stefan (Paul Wesley). Both of these situations will be addressed in the Season 4 finale, executive producer Julie Plec tells E! Online.

If the scenario of Elena choosing between brothers sounds familiar, in Season 4, Episode 23, “Graduation,” there’s a twist. In the Season 3 finale, Julie explains Elena was dealing with her feelings for both Stefan and Damon. "This year, she's had a very traumatic roller coaster of life experience and it's changed her irrevocably — and at the center of it all was the diehard belief that she loved Damon, that she loved him more than she'd ever loved anyone,” says Julie. "Her struggle has been with the realization of the sire bond that she couldn't even trust those feelings to be true.”

It sounds like the sire bond is now definitely broken. That way, Elena can have a clear head as she figures out where her love lies. Julie teases, “it's more about answering the truth of those feelings and as a result does that mean her distance from Stefan was also not real and not true? She handles that realization pretty well and it's a great, great, great scene."

Cryptic. Does it sound like Elena still has feelings for Stefan or she’s realized the sire bond was just magnifying something that was already there with Damon?

Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev: Did He Deny Breakup in Brussels?

The Vampire Diaries: Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder

The Vampire Diaries conventions are always very illuminating. The cast often talk about their favorite episodes, hilarious pranks, and whether or not they can start their own Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants club. The BloodyNightCon 2013 convention, which took place in Brussels over the weekend, was no exception.

Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore) took to the stage amidst rumors — reported by both People magazine and US Weekly — that he and Nina Dobrev (Elena Gilbert) split. While he never addressed the topic directly, some fans are hoping that an offhand remark means that the gossip is false.

During his panel with Candice Accola (Caroline Forbes), a fan asked if they’ve ever seen anyone at the conventions that looks like someone they know. When Candice answered with a “yes,” Ian jumped in. “You just see me,” he joked. Candice agreed, saying that was especially true back when Ian’s doppelganger Jamie Christlow used to dress as the TVD star.

“That was crazy,” said Ian. “I used to just want to go up and hug him... And Jamie and I looked at each other and said, ‘Dude, if we were single, we could do some damage.’ Two brothers? Twins?”

It’s that “if we were single” part that has fans in an uproar. To us, it sounds like Ian is recalling a past conversation and doesn’t necessarily shed light on his current relationship status. Then again, neither Ian’s nor Nina’s reps have made an official comment about the breakup.

Do you think they’re still together?

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Klaus and Caroline’s Moment Opens a Door

Klaus and Caroline in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 23, "Graduation"

You’ve been warned! Vampire Diaries spoilers from E! Online below!

With Klaus’s (Joseph Morgan) impending, permanent departure from Mystic Falls (he’s starring in The Originals this fall), what does The Vampire Diaries Season 4 finale hold for him and Caroline (Candice Accola)? According to what executive producer Julie Plec tells E! Online, all hope is not lost for them.

"There's a moment between them in the finale that basically makes it clear where Klaus stands and where Caroline stands," says Julie. "Rather than completely shutting any doors, it actually, if anything, opens a new one.”

The new door is imperative, because as it stands right now everything seems to hang on this long distance that will soon separate them. But Julie says Klaus’s move to New Orleans wasn’t meant to disrupt whatever is going on between them. “We've never wanted to compromise the Klaus-Caroline [relationship] with the idea that there would be this other show she wouldn't potentially be on,” Julie explains, “so we're making decisions as though we would continue their journey in perpetuity, for better or for worse, whether she ever cared for him or not. And if we need to cross over between the two shows, then we will."

While it’s a relief that Klaus and Caroline’s future will still be in the writers’ minds in Season 4 and on The Originals, there’s still poor Tyler (Michael Trevino) to consider. “We'll understand what Klaus' intentions are as they relate to Tyler and we'll get a sense of what we might see in the future," Julie promises.

Frankly, we’d love to see one last interaction between Klaus and Tyler. Can you imagine how smug the Original will be when told his former follower that he knocked up his pal Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin)?

The Vampire Diaries Season 5: Julie Plec Teases “New Faces”

Paul Wesley, Nina Dobrev, Kevin Williamson, Julie Plec, and Ian Somerhalder at the 21st Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar Viewing Party

There will be some tough goodbyes in the Season 4 finale of The Vampire Diaries — and we’re not even talking about that rumored death! Lots of characters are heading out of Mystic Falls. Julie Plec tells TVFanatic that with some familiar characters moving on to The Originals next fall, some newcomers will take their places in Season 5 of TVD.

“We’re definitely going to see some new faces,” says Julie. “Some of our characters are going to go to college and Mystic Falls will have lost some of its vampire population and so there’s going to be new opportunities, new villains, and new friends in Season 5.”

Sigh. We hate change. But we are excited to watch Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah (Daniel Gillies), and Rebekah (Claire Holt) in New Orleans — especially if some Mystic Falls people can drop in every now and again. Julie explains there will definitely be crossover opportunities, saying, “I think that we have characters moving from one life to another and they have connections from where they have just moved from so we’re not going to pretend like that connection never existed. If anything, they’re going to be very present emotionally in the new series and it’s just a matter of what opportunities can happen [and] when to pay a little visit from one show to the other.”

But before Originals can start visiting their Mystic Falls crushes and vice versa, there has to be some closure on these relationships. For instance, Rebekah and Matt (Zach Roerig) have had a connection toward the end of Season 4. “Believe it or not, Rebekah gets a nice moment or two where you feel like the girl might actually have a little fun,” Julie teases.

While she won’t say if it’s a Mabekah moment, we’ll keep our fingers crossed. They both could use a bit of fun.

The Vampire Diaries Stelena Spoilers For the Season 4 Finale

Elena and Stefan in Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 16: “Bring It On”

In  The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 23, “Graduation,”  Elena (Nina Dobrev) finally comes to a decision about the Salvatore brothers. In Nina Dobrev’s opnion, her character should opt for a little “me” time, but Elena definitely chooses one over the other. Will Season 5 be the year of Delena or Stelena? Well, for all you who ‘ship the newbie vamp with the younger brother, here’s a Stelena spoiler roundup for the Season 4 finale.

Whether or not Elena and Stefan (Paul Wesley) get back together, he definitely finds out some troubling information about Silas.

There are a few “romantic” moments — and some “happy” ones —  but are they between Stefan and Elena?

Executive producer Julie Plec says of the triangle, “We will know, when the finale is over, where everyone stands in the context of the Stefan/Damon/Elena triangle. It will definitely set all three of them on a very different and interesting path when we move forward."

Maybe Elena’s choice will be influenced by whether or not the sire bond is broken?

While there are photos of Elena and Damon looking close (and him looking shirtless) in the Season 4 finale, we have yet to see any evidence of her with Stefan.

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers — Season 4 Finale: Katherine Wants Elena Dead

Elena Is Worried in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 23: "Graduation"

Doppelgangers. They’re always out for their doubles’ blood. In a new sneak peek of The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 23, “Graduation,” Katherine (Nina Dobrev) decides to get what she’s owed by threatening Elena (Nina Dobrev).

In the last episode, Kat held up her end of the bargain with Bonnie (Kat Graham) — the vampire handed over Silas’s tombstone. In exchange, Qetsiyah was supposed to make Katherine even more immortal than she already is.

“I’m here to collect that immortality you promised me,” Katherine tells Bonnie when she shows up at Mystic Falls High School. The witch is in her cap and gown, ready to graduate. But she thinks Katherine is delusional. “Qetsiyah’s the only witch who knows the immortality spell,” she tells the doppelganger. “She was a no-show. You’re out of luck.”

At this point, Katherine launches into a woe-is-me speech. “I have been feeling out of luck lately,” she tells Bonnie. “But you know who has been getting all of my luck? My beloved doppelganger Elena.” Um, Elena’s life hasn’t been going that swell recently, so we’d love to know exactly what Kat’s envious of.

Then the vamp threatens to “get rid of her” if Bonnie doesn’t come through with the spell. The witch doesn’t like the idea of her bestie being threatened and reminds Katherine that she can crush her skull. Just like The Kids in the Hall!

Last week Elena wanted to kill Katherine. Now the tables have turned. It looks like a doppelganger showdown is inevitable at this point!

The Vampire Diaries Season 4 Finale: 5 Things We Want to See

Elena in in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 23: "Graduation"

The Season 4 finale of The Vampire Diaries is just around the corner, and we can’t wait to find out what happens. In fact, we have a laundry list of moments we want to see in Season 4, Episode 23, “Graduation.” Let us know if you agree!

A supernatural war
Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) and dead witches, hybrids, and hunters are en route to Mystic Falls for vengeance and Silas-killing duty. With the veil still dropped, it’s impossible for them to die again. This is going to pose a problem for Elena (Nina Dobrev) and co. and we really want a bloody battle between the “living” vampires and the ghosts. Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen), get your crossbow; Alaric (Matt Davis), to your weapon cabinet!

Alaric to come back from the dead
Sigh. This was a hard choice to make. If we can only have one dead character come back from the grave, we suppose it has to be the history teacher. Maybe it’s because Jeremy’s, Kol’s, and Bonnie’s (Kat Graham) deaths are too fresh, or perhaps it’s all about his bromance with Damon (Ian Somerhalder). Either way, we want Alaric resurrected.

Romance
Be it between Matt (Zach Roerig) and Rebekah (Claire Holt), Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Caroline (Candice Accola), Elena and the Salvatore of her choosing, it doesn’t matter. We just want some sweet and tender moments before everyone goes into ghost-busting mode.

Silas’s real face
Come on. We didn’t get rid of Silas that easily, did we? The Five wants to find his stony body, unfreeze him, jam the cure down his throat, and kill him. We’re not sure if they’ll succeed, but we hope he comes back long enough to show his true self. There must be something about him if Qetsiyah was willing to wait 2,000 years for the guy.

Everyone to graduate
Matt delivered a touching speech about wanting to graduate as a human. Caroline brought her mother back from the brink of death so she could see her daughter in a cap and gown. OK, Elena doesn’t really care either way, but still. These kids can’t reach a high school milestone without someone almost dying or getting possessed or something going wrong. It’d be nice if their time at Mystic Falls High School came to a close in a nice and normal way.

Top 5 Vampire Diaries OMG Moments From Season 4, Episode 22

Damon and Alaric, Best Bros Forever
Stefan (Paul Wesley) may be Damon’s (Ian Somerhalder) brother by genetics, but Alaric (Matt Davis) was his proverbial brother from another mother. Sure, they began their relationship together as sworn enemies, but never forget: they ended it as drinking buddies. Damon grieved for Alaric in a way that he has for very few, if any, other characters, and we were right there with him.

At lot of stuff went bananas when the veil was lifted, but with every dark some light must come. It was fitting, awesome, and shocking in the best possible way when the first person to appear from the great beyond was Alaric. While Damon was at first skeptical that Alaric was who he claimed to be, a few drinks erased that and before too long Damon had the friend he’d been missing and an ally he desperately needed. That he was an ally who came with the cure in his hand definitely didn’t hurt.

All Work and No Play Makes Silas a Bloody Boy
Bonnie (Kat Graham) finally thought she had a handle on Silas and was prepared to beat him at his own game. She was going to lift the veil prematurely and banish him without unleashing hell on earth. A good plan in theory but not great in practice, since Silas is far more powerful than anyone had imagined.

He’s so powerful, in fact, that he managed to fool almost everyone into thinking that he was Caroline (Candice Accola) when in fact the real Caroline was locked in the back room of the Mystic Grill, repeatedly slashing at her arms because Silas told her she must bleed. Luckily Rebekah (Claire Holt) and Matt (Zach Roerig) found her and let Damon know that Silas was still on the loose. They were on the verge of being too late, as Silas-as-Caroline revealed to Bonnie that she was never actually seen his true form, and he’d been able to get into her head the entire time.

Jeremy’s Back... For a Second!
Elena (Nina Dobrev) and her feelings might be back, finally, but she was so focused on her rage towards her doppelganger Katherine (Nina Dobrev) that she may as well have felt nothing at all. She explained this all to Stefan What if she let herself feel and falls apart completely when confronted with the death of her brother?

The episode eventually finds her at Jeremy’s (Steven R. McQueen) grave, gradually coming to terms with these feelings. When Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) showed up to murder her and exact his revenge, Jeremy appeared from beyond the veil to save his sister and help her cope with her feelings in a true and real way. Jeremy’s reappearance also impacts another cast member greatly — but we’ll get to that!

Lexi and Stefan
At the end of the episode, Stefan was left feeling bummed out that basically everyone else had gotten a chance to hang out with their dead friends, but his dead friend Lexi was MIA. He tried to make do with Caroline, but he can’t shake his sadness.

Until Lexi shows up! Stefan is beyond excited to see his old friend and so are we. The twosome goes for a long walk where Lexi breaks it down as only Lexie can. She points out that Elena punching him in the face might be her way of saying “take a hint dude.” She then slyly remarks that Stefan has replaced her with another blonde — Caroline! The internet gasped. So did we.

Bye-Bye, Bonnie Bennett
We all know that people dying unexpectedly on the show is well, expected. We become very close with characters, and then we lose them. Keep in mind that this is Mystic Falls and dead doesn’t necessarily mean go forever. Look at this entire episode. It was riddled with characters who had been killed off.

Still, that doesn’t mean it’s easy to see them shuffle of their mortal coils, you know? Bonnie had been treading dangerously close to the edge for the majority of the season. Her connection with Expression-based magic probably was the thing that spelled out her doom ages ago. Still, it was her belief that she could bring Jeremy back permanently that finally did her in. Bonnie looked shocked as all get out when she woke up well, dead. But we guarantee you she did not look as shocked as we did. OMG indeed.

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Season 4 Finale — Kol’s Undead Army

Watch it! The Vampire Diaries spoilers for the Season 4 finale from Zap2It below.

If you thought Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) was angry in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 22, “The Walking Dead,” wait until you see him in the Season 4 finale. Zap2It has an exclusive trailer from the episode.

First of all, he was killed again — but with the veil still lowered, dead supernaturals have nowhere to go. The Original thinks the Mystic Falls gang needs to be put in their place, and he’s gathered the 12 witches done in by Caroline (Candice Accola) and  Klaus’s (Joseph Morgan) dozen murdered hybrids to take them on.

In the video, Kol gathers his soldiers like a general. Good thing that graduation podium is there. “It was our deaths that allowed this day to come to pass,” he says. “The slaughter of innocents by the so-called hero protectors of Mystic Falls.” He then goes on to list the ranks of the dead.

“Massacres performed in the name of resurrecting the immortal Silas,” Kol continues. “They rest, unleashing hell on earth for their own selfish gain. And today, that’s exactly what they’re going to get.”

Meanwhile, the deceased members of the Five are trying to hunt down Silas and the cure. Alexander, Rebekah’s (Claire Holt) hunter almost-husband tells her he wants to fulfill his destiny. “They’re willing to kill everyone else in Mystic Falls until they get it”, Elena (Nina Dobrev) tells Damon (Ian Somerhalder). He responds that he doesn’t care about anyone else.

Qetsiyah has a virtually unlimited supply of hunters she can send after the cure. All we can say is, we hope Bonnie’s (Kat Graham) magic works just as well now that she’s a ghost!

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers For Season 5: Is Bonnie Still Dead?

Bonnie in Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 22: "The Walking Dead"

Whoa! Giant Vampire Diaries spoilers from E! Online below!

Wah! Once again, Bonnie (Kat Graham) sacrificed herself to save someone else. In The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 22, “The Walking Dead,” her insistence on trying to bring Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) back from the dead — again — cost her life. So is this Bonnie-as-ghost thing permanent?

According to some spoilers from E! Online, yes. Bonnie is totally, totally dead and will remain so throughout the Season 4 finale. “Bonnie will end the season dead. Permanently so,” the site confirms.

No! We need the witch now more than ever! Spirits are arriving in Mystic Falls by the dozen. Literally. Those 12 witches and 12 hybrids Caroline (Candice Accola) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan) killed show up in Season 4, Episode 23, “Graduation.”

Speaking of the big day, there doesn’t appear to be a “no ghosts allowed” policy; spoiler photos show Bonnie in cap and gown, grinning along with Caroline and Elena (Nina Dobrev) at graduation. We’re guessing she decides not to tell her friends that her Expression spell went awry.

E! Online also says there’s no word yet on how often we’ll see either Bonnie or Jeremy in Season 5. One ghost is rumored to come back from the grave for good.

Now that Bonnie is in the running, we’re even more torn about who we want it to be!

Katherine in the Woods in Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 22: "The Walking Dead"

Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev Split — Do His Tweets Hold a Clue?

Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder at the 21st Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar Viewing Party

With the sad news of Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev’s breakup, fans are wondering what happened between the seemingly perfect couple.

The Vampire Diaries stars had been spending time apart recently — going on separate vacations — prompting rumors of a split. But when they traveled together to visit a sick fan, speculation was squashed. Now several sources are confirming the split, and we have to wonder how they’re both taking it.

Ian is in Brussels right now, working hard. “Meeting some amazing minds in Brussels today to discuss European growth and integration  for @IS_Foundation -very excited,” he tweeted. The actor also sent out a poster for his new environmental series of short films, Time Framed.

We’d say Ian was too busy to dwell on what’s going on, but he also posted this provocative quote on Twitter: “A THOUGHT FOR TODAY: People change and forget to tell each other. -Lillian Hellman, playwright (1905-1984).”

Is he saying his girlfriend of three years changed, or just being his usual thoughtful self?

For her part, Nina Dobrev, who’s currently in New York, spent last night tweeting out fun pictures of herself and some girlfriends (like Stacy Keibler) from her Met Ball appearance.

Do you think the rumors are true, or are Ian and Nina just spending more time apart?

Julie Plec Talks Sire Bond , The Originals and more with ET online, TV Fanatic and Zap2it

ETOnline, TV Fanatic and Zap2It had a chance to catch up with The Vampire Diaries Executive Producer, Julie Plec to talk the sire bond, graduation and the new Vampire Diaries Spin-off, The Originals.

Via ETOnline:

ETonline: With The Originals, many fans are wondering how you bring Matt & Rebekah and Klaus & Caroline’s stories to a close. What can you say?

Plec: They are very, very simple and, I think, satisfying. I’m sure there are lots of people who would like to see more, but it’s satisfying and very enjoyable. The thing is, I watched Buffy and Angel. I used to love on Angel when we’d get visits from friends from the other show. Plus, Angel didn’t stop loving Buffy just because he was on a new show. It took him a long-ass time to get over her, so this is by no means the end of Klaus’ feelings for Caroline. If anything, it’s a new beginning.

Via TV Fanatic:

TVF: With The Originals coming next season, safe to say we will see many new characters on TVD next season?

JP: We’re definitely going to see some new faces. Some of our characters are going to go to college and Mystic Falls will have lost some of its vampire population and so there’s going to be new opportunities, new villains and new friends in season five.

TVF: What are the rules for crossing over between TVD and The Originals?

JP: I think, at the moment, there are no rules. I think that we have characters moving from one life to another and they have connections from where they have just moved from so we’re not going to pretend like that connection never existed. If anything, they’re going to be very present emotionally in the new series and it’s just a matter of what opportunities can happen [and] when to pay a little visit from one show to the other.

Via Zap2It:

Plec says that despite the dissent in the fandom, the sire bond “absolutely” accomplished what the writers intended for it to accomplish. “The bottom line is that Elena as a human made a very, very, very clear choice that she would love Stefan always and forever,” she says. “But then her entire life turned upside down, and any feelings she originally had for Damon were still there, and of course magnified. There was always going to be a little bit of a confusion there for her — but not enough confusion for her to be over Stefan. It would take a lot to rip Elena away from loving Stefan. It would take years and seasons. We’d be eighty, if we followed the natural progression of that relationship.”

NINA Dobrev, IAN Somerhalder break up

Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder's showmance is over. The Vampire Diaries costars, who play Elena Gilbert and Damon Salvatore on the CW hit series, have called it quits after more than three years of dating, a source tells Us Weekly exclusively.
PHOTOS: Nina and Ian, the way they were
The couple, who first took their romance public in 2011, are "consummate professionals," the insider says, and "will continue to work together and remain best friends, which is where the relationship started."
PHOTOS: Nina's stunning red carpet style
Last fall, Dobrev opened up to Seventeen magazine about falling for Somerhalder. "I didn't want to be dating one of my costars -- my goal on the show was to be professional," she admitted. "But sometimes you can't help who you have a connection with, and you can only fight it for so long -- which I did for a really, really long time."

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Season 4 Finale — Who’s Angry at Elena?

Would You Steal Elena's Style?

Ruh-roh. The Vampire Diaries spoilers from ETOnline.com below!

It’s that time of year when Vampire Diaries executive producer Julie Plec starts making us very nervous about the season finale. Season 4, Episode 23, “Graduation” is just around the corner, and she calls it “Bold and potentially devastating.” Groan. We can’t handle much more devastation!

First, though, we have Season 4, Episode 22, “The Walking Dead,” in which a number of dearly departed ghosts come back to haunt Mystic Falls after Bonnie (Kat Graham) drops the veil to the Other Side. Not every spirit is in a friendly mood, Julie tells ETOnline. She says the writers thought long and hard about who to bring back — Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) included.

Julie explains, “If you look at the season as a whole, you'll realize every person we see again fits into the body. Knowing at the beginning of the year where we wanted to end, and how we wanted to end it, we made the season a lot about loss and feeling disconnected from the ones you love.”

Despite that warm-and-squishy sentiment, Kol isn’t a happy haunter. “He's an enemy who is very pissed that Elena had a hand in his death,” teases Julie. “He's coming back with an ax to grind. There's also, let's not forget, a lot of people who died over the year in the name of resurrecting Silas. As promised, that is going to have some ugly consequences.”

Uh-oh. Caroline (Candice Accola) could have some witch-issues on her hands! Maybe she and Elena should go and hide somewhere until this whole veil thing blows over.
