Dead Sara should be the next biggest rock band in the world,” Dave Grohl tells Fuse of the band performing in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 17, “Because the Night.”
Elena (Nina Dobrev), Damon (Ian Somerhalder), and Rebekah (Claire Holt) head to New York in tonight’s episode, and it’s only fitting that Dead Sara provide the soundtrack as they party — and bite — their way through the city’s clubs. Damon will also be reminiscing about his NYC days during the ‘70s, when he was a part of the burgeoning punk scene.
According to Fuse, we’ll hear Dead Sara’s cover of Patti Smith’s “Ask the Angels,” as well as their new single, “Lemon Scent,” as the trio of vampires enjoys the nightlife.
“They are huge supporters of indie music,” lead singer Emily Armstrong said of the show. “We were stoked to be considered amongst these other really cool artists.”
Dead Sara is a rock band comprised of Emily, guitarist Siouxsie Medley, bassist Chris Null, and drummer Sean Friday, Their self-titled debut album will be released on April 10.
