The Vampire Diaries keeps star Paul Wesley (Stefan) pretty busy, but the actor still finds time to do some films during his hiatus. What ambitions does Paul have for after the end of TVD? The actor spoke to Huffpost Live on the subject. Read on to find out more!
“These two films I did last summer were such great experiences,” Paul said of his supporting roles in Sam and Amira and Before I Disappear. “They were NYC indie films, and I’m a New Yorker — well, New Jersey, but I say New York because it sounds a little better. That was a bad joke.” It’s OK, Paul. We still love you.
“I like doing sort of gritty, urban stories. I do tend to gravitate towards that,” Paul continued, implying that he might continue to focus on similar projects moving forward. When it comes to future TV projects, Paul has a very specific format in mind: “Lately, I’ve been watching a lot of cable television. I think the model of doing 13 episodes a year is ... really great as far as creativity is concerned because it’s less stressful for the writers…The 13-episode model is something that really intrigues me. Post-Vampire Diaries, I definitely think that’s something I want to explore.”
Though it chills us to think about the end of TVD, we do like to think about what other projects its cast might move onto afterwards. We can’t wait to see what Paul decides to do — whether it’s in front of or behind the camera — though, we have to admit, we’d love to see him in another TV series. We’re less picky about the number of episodes per season.
