Vampire Diaries Star Lands Lead Role in NBC's Charles Manson Drama
Vampire Diaries alum Michaela McManus — best known to TVD fans as feisty werewolf Jules from Season 2 — has been cast in a new Charles Manson drama starring David Duchovny. Aquarius is set in 1960s L.A. and will follow Duchovny’s character, police sergeant Sam Hodiak, as he investigates a then-unknown Charles Manson. How does Michaela come into all of this? Read on to find out!
It seems like ages since Michaela was breaking necks with Stephen Amell (aka Oliver Queen) as lowly werewolves on TVD, kidnapping Caroline Forbes and being unceremoniously — or, in Jules’ case, ceremoniously — killed. What role will Michaela fill in Aquarius? According to The Hollywood Reporter, Michaela will play recurring character Grace, Sam Hodiak’s ex-girlfriend and longtime family friend, on the 13-episode drama. When Grace’s daughter, Emma, goes missing, she goes to Hodiak for help. We’re assuming sparks ensue.
Michaela joins a stellar cast that also includes David Meunier (Justified), Chris Sheffield (The Last Ship), Grey Damon (Friday Night Lights), Emma Dumont (Bunheads), and Gethin Anthony (Game of Thrones) as Charles Manson. If the intriguing premise of this show didn’t have us excited, then the cast certainly would. Fox Mulder and Renly Baratheon going head to head? Sign us up!
