The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 22: Which Scene Got Cut?

Bummer! One scene we definitely paid attention to in the promo video for The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 22, “The Walking Dead” ended up on the cutting room floor.

A fan wanted to know what happens if Silas bites someone, since the ancient immortal takes a chunk out of Stefan (Paul Wesley) in the preview and tweeted the question at Julie Plec. The executive producer responded, “actually, we cut that scene.”

The brothers head to the hospital to discuss Silas’s recent rampage with the sheriff. “There were four other victims, each one almost completely drained of blood,” she tells them. Stefan thinks Silas is preparing for a big event. We assume that exchange is still in show. Later, Stefan is attacked by the former witch, who’s disguised as a hospital employee. Everyone really needs to start traveling everywhere with Bonnie (Kat Graham). She’s the only one who can see through his shapeshifting!

Evidently that bloody exchange wasn’t crucial enough to keep in the episode, so we won’t be seeing Stefan and Silas’s hospital showdown. (You can still watch it in the video below, however.) At least we know a bite from the powerful vampire isn’t fatal!
