We couldn’t be prouder that our gang on The Vampire Diaries is finally reaching that important teenage milestone: graduation. Even if most of them are gonna stay 18 forever, it’s still quite a feat, considering how many classes they’ve skipped while going on field trips to New York City and beyond.
However, TV Guide spoke with Julie Plec, TVD’s executive producer, and she teased that not everyone will be hand for the big event.
“Definitely not all of our wayward, delinquent students will be present when it comes time to collect their diplomas,” she said.
Don’t worry. It’s not because they’re missing their hearts or got staked. It’s simply that there’s a more pressing supernatural occurrence conflicting with graduation. Isn’t that always the way?
While there’s no clues about which Mystic Falls High School student is missing all the pomp and circumstance, we have a feeling we know what interrupts it: Silas’s Other Side-erasing spell. At this point, he’s just waiting on the cure, and thanks to Elijah (Daniel Gillies), it’s headed straight to Mystic Falls.
If our guess is correct, then he’ll probably need Bonnie (Kat Graham) — whether she’s a willing participant or not.
