Elena (Nina Dobrev) is sure that Damon (Ian Somerhalder) prefers her without her humanity. “Be honest; you like me better like this,” she said to him in the last episode. But even if that’s true, he might change his mind in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 17, “Because the Night.”
In an interview with TV Guide, Ian Somerhalder said of Elena, “She kicks his ass. He gets another side — Damon gets another side of Elena that really solidifies that he’s not a fan of her current state.”
Yikes. First Elena tries to take out Caroline (Candice Accola), and now she beats up Damon? Not giving a fang really makes you a scrappy fighter! We’re guessing it’s more than just a few punches that has Damon so concerned, though.
The episode will also flash back to the ‘70s, when the elder Salvatore was humanity-less. He had a life coach in the form of Lexi, and Ian admits his character may have hit on his brother’s best friend. Does Stefan (Paul Wesley) know how close they were?
“She would’ve told him,” Ian tells TV Guide. “She’d have said, ‘Your brother’s a slimebag. He keeps hitting on me.’”
That does sound like something Lexi would say!
