He’s back! We don’t even care what he’s doing, because he’s back! Elijah (Daniel Gillies) is set to make his triumphant return in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 18, “American Gothic,” but not everyone may be as happy as we are to see him. (What’s wrong with you? Elijah is a gift from heaven.)
“Elijah’s gonna shock and possibly even horrify a few,” Daniel Gillies tells Entertainment Weekly. “In fact, I’ll say he’s gonna horrify many. But frankly, I don’t care. I think what he’s doing is wonderful.” Sigh. Gillies is a gift, too.
Even Julie Plec was keeping things on the DL when she spoke to EW, only saying that Elijah is trying to keep his family together. We’re guessing some of the action will lead into the backdoor pilot for The Originals, when Elijah, Klaus (Joseph Morgan), and Rebekah (Claire Holt) revisit their old home New Orleans.
So what could Elijah possibly be doing that would horrify people? We have a guess: kissing Elena (Nina Dobrev). According to a spoiler from TVLine, “Elena will do just about anything to find the cure, and that includes going to first base with [spoiler].”
We’ve always thought Elijah had a thing for Elena. Maybe now that she’s sans emotions, he’ll actually act on it...
