While we couldn’t be more excited for The Vampire Diaries potential spin-off, The Originals, our enjoyment was put on pause when we realized some of our favorite characters wouldn’t be hanging around Mystic Falls as much. Luckily, Joseph Morgan (Klaus) promised that there would be plenty of crossover opportunity — especially because both shows will film in Atlanta.
He told E! Online, "There are going to be characters that cross over between the two worlds. The whole world is going to be richer.”
There are tons of characters we’d love to see in New Orleans with the Originals, but there’s one in particular who seems to have unfinished business with the hybrid — Caroline (Candice Accola). “I would imagine all the fans that have been so generous to me are going to want to see what happens with Caroline,” says Joseph. “I feel like I owe it to the fans for there to be some resolve and for her to possibly turn up in New Orleans at some point. I know there's already talks about different characters that can come over to New Orleans and then go back."
We don’t mind if Caroline spends a few sultry nights in Louisiana — just as long as she comes back to Mystic Falls eventually!
