stefan and elena and damon The list of supernatural creatures in Mystic Falls hasn’t gotten much longer since hybrids were introduced in Season 2 of The Vampire Diaries, but is that about to change? Shane (David Alpay) is very keen on freeing the ancient witch Silas from his underground prison. In conversations with Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) and Elena (Nina Dobrev), the professor has hinted that he has a few people he’d like to bring back from the dead: a wife and son he lost. Silas has that power. When Rebekah (Claire Holt) figured out that it was Shane who blew up the Founder’s Council, he said it was only temporary, “because once I wake Silas, Silas will raise the dead. He will bring back every last soul who died on his behalf.” Then Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) stabbed him with a metal rod. Thanks to Bonnie’s (Kat Graham) protection spell, Shane will live another day. If he succeeds in unearthing Silas — and the witch makes good on whatever raising-from-the-dead promise Shane seems to think he’s made — it doesn’t necessarily mean Pastor Young and Klaus’s (Joseph Morgan) hybrids will rejuvenate, magically intact. Does it? Anyone who’s read “The Monkey’s Paw” knows the “Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it” maxim. Sure, Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) was brought back to life, but that had some undesirable consequences (ghost makeouts) and Bonnie hasn’t had the same relationship with the witches ever since. If Silas grants life to those who lost it on his behalf and Hayley is able to bring back her deceased parents, they might not be zombies — but we’d be very surprised if the newly risen didn’t come back wrong somehow... |
