Vampire Diaries Season 5: Grace Phipps Would Love For April to Be... — Exclusive

Grace Phipps at Fright Night on August 17, 2011
After Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) bit the dust in Season 4 of The Vampire Diaries, April stopped showing up on the Gilberts’ doorstep. (To be fair, the house had also burned down.) Last night at the Leica Los Angeles store opening, Wetpaint Entertainment spoke with the lovely Grace Phipps — who will soon appear in Disney’s Teen Beach Movie
— she said she’d love to see some big changes with April in Season 5.
Wetpaint Entertainment: What can you tell us about next season?
Grace Phipps: The show a very successful show and all of the writers are incredible and I end up knowing really absolutely nothing! The extent to which I am not in the loop is hilarious. It’s such a group of fantastic actors and there are a lot of great actors in this town that you get really blessed to work with and then sometimes there are people that just give you less and it’s less fun, you end up with that. But on Vampire Diaries
you end up with fantastic actors and everyone you’re working with is sharing energy and it’s such a rush so I just hope I get to say hi and go work with those people again.
Last season April really started to become aware…
Become aware, not a werewolf though!

Oh clever; we see what you did there! Ha! What is she going to do with this information? What would you like to see happen?
That’s a really good question; I don’t even want to jinx anything. I really love being able to play that because I love supernatural stuff; Buffy the Vampire Slayer
is my favorite show of all time. The idea of compelling somebody and the lore, it’s such a betrayal of trust and I always thought about that just as a human being driving my car in Los Angeles I thought about how it’s actually… you’re being perpetrated on so much when someone is affecting your memory. Even just working through the character off camera, that sort of betrayal and having to deal with that because her family is dead and everybody that she trusts is betraying her trust. So playing this innocent young girl who comes back to town from a boarding school and then all of the sudden — to not only have to deal with your father’s death and to deal with everything you know being gone — to have to deal with everything you thought you knew to be false, was such meaty stuff to get to work through.
Would you like to see April as a vampire?
Yes, obviously I would love to play a vampire! I mean I went to Hot Topic and got the fake vampire teeth for Halloween in middle school. Obviously I want fangs sometime!

Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley Hold Hands: Vampire Diaries OMG Pic

Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder Hold Hands on Fan-Made iPhone Case
Our little Defan-loving hearts are skipping a beat. Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore) tweeted a photo of himself holding hands with his Vampire Diaries co-star Paul Wesley (Stefan Salvatore), and it is adorable.
The ULTIMATE IPhone case,” Ian tweeted along with the picture of the fan-made creation. “@paulwesley it's official-they've caught us.Time to tell your wife... Thanks@devinejoanne @ jackie02 for outing us and going through the trouble to make this!” Oh, Ian.
Joanne Devine, one of the women responsible for the iPhone case, tweeted that she’s getting everything in order in case fans want to get one for themselves.
Unfortunately, Mr. Wesley hasn’t weighed in on whether he loves the case as much as his bro Ian, but we’ll just take his Twitter silence as approval. We’re just sorry Torrey DeVitto (Meredith) had to find out like this, though.

‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5: Ian Somerlader, Nina Dobrev’s TCA stop

The Vampire Diaries Cast
Even though Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev are going to be busy in around a month’s time kicking off work on “The Vampire Diaries” season 5, they are going to take some time out for a few trips. First of all, the pair (and former couple) is likely going to be in attendance at Comic-Con in San Diego, given that they have been on multiple occasions in the past. In addition to that, there is also the upcoming appearance of some of the actors at Fox’s Teen Choice Awards on August 11.
So who is confirmed to take part in the ceremony this year? According to Twitter messages (and reports), some of the people that are confirmed right now to be in attendance include the likes of Dobrev, Somerhalder, and also Kat Graham. It’s possible that there could be even more actors who decide to show up, but for the time being, they are not confirmed.
As for why they bother taking the time out from a busy filming schedule for these events? There really are few reasons:
1. The CW needs to have ways to promote their series, so what better way is there than to see some of their stars potentially picking up awards?
2. It is obviously a nice way to thank the fans for their near-constant support and undying devotion to the show. Ian and Nina are always in particular red-carpet favorites.

Vampire Diaries’ Ian Somerhalder Almost a Passenger on TWA Flight 800

The deadly explosion of TWA Flight 800 has been in the news recently because a documentary about the 1996 crash is raising new questions about what happened to the plane. In a chilling tweet, Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore) revealed he was nearly onboard the plane.
I was Supposed to be on this FLIGHT!” The Vampire Diaries star tweeted today, along with a link to a story about the new documentary’s revelations.
After an initial investigation, the National Transportation Safety Board ruled an electrical short circuit caused the explosion, a decision the documentary is calling into question. In an interview with CNN, the movie’s co-producer Tom Stalcup said there’s "solid proof that there was an external detonation," adding, "the radar data shows a(n) asymmetric explosion coming out of that plane — something that didn't happen in the official theory."
Tragically, all 230 people on flight TWA 800 died when the Paris-bound plane exploded and crashed into the Atlantic Ocean after leaving John F. Kennedy International Airport.
In 1996, Ian was a 17-year-old male model, so it’s possible he would’ve been flying to Paris for work at the time. While he didn’t explain what caused him to miss the flight, he’s obviously extremely lucky he did.

Which Vampire Diaries Actor Said He Has a Secret Crush on Nina Dobrev?

Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore), Candice Accola (Caroline Forbes), Kat Graham (Bonnie Bennett), Michael Trevino (Tyler Lockwood), Matt Davis (Alaric Saltzman), Nathaniel Buzolic (Kol), and others were on hand to answer fans questions. Some of the answers were very revealing — especially when one cast member admitted to having a crush on Nina Dobrev (Elena Gilbert) and said he wished their characters could’ve hooked up! Who was it? Click through to find out!

Oh, là là. There’s something about Nina Dobrev (Elena Gilbert) that older men just love! Her ex Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore) is 10 years older than her, and it appears Matt Davis (Alaric Saltzman), who’s 35, also has a thing for the 24-year-old Bulgarian beauty. According to tons of tweets from Insurgence 5, Matt admitted, “I've always had a secret little crush on Nina and I always tease her about Elena and Alaric hooking up.” Well, it wouldn’t be the first time a student-teacher relationship turned into something else, but a guardian-guardee (is that a word) relationship?
