Does Fifty Shades of Grey author E.L. James want Ian Somerhalder? (We’d like to tell her, get in line!) The dashing Vampire Diaries star has been rumored to be a top contender for the role of Christian Grey in the movie version of the hit book, and now a new tweet from the author is spurring even more chatter.
The rumor mill started after a Twitter user, @BookTemptations, posted a photo of Ian wearing a mask next to a quote from Fifty Shades Darker, and E.L. responded with a smiley face. Okay, we’re a long way from thinking that a smiley face definitely means he’s a shoo-in for the role, but we certainly wouldn’t mind. Ian is just such beautiful eye candy!
As Wetpaint Moms reported earlier this week, E.L. was said to be the most popular person in the room at the Vanity Fair Oscars party as agents basically stood in line to pitch their actor clients as potential Christians.
Some of our favorite names, besides Ian’s, said to be in the running to play the role include Ryan Gosling (yum), Alexander Skarsgard (double yum), and Eddie Redmayne (have mercy)!
